Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

Willingham traded to KC for a minor league pitcher.
And the hometown weenie returns tonight.

Double Play Joe with the game winning single. I'll be at the game Friday night to cheer The Hammer and boo Joe every time he ineffectively tries to go the other way.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

Buxton taken off the field in an ambulance. :(

This team....The combination of them shooting themselves in the foot/general inept management and all bright spots getting seriously injured is so insane it is practically comical.

(I don't mean that it is comical that Buxton got hurt. I wish him the best, and hope the injury isn't serious)

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

Speculation is a broken collarbone for Buxton

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

I keep hearing concussion. Sounds like his head bounced off the other guy's hip.

Collarbone was a speculation based on a few tweets from Rosen.

Collarbone doesn't knock you unconscious for 10 minutes.

LaVelle just tweeted no concussion either.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

And terry Ryan said it was a concussion

And now LEN has changed it to concussion possible but Twins not worried at first glance. (They should have experience after M&M)
This is why Twitter is both fun and scary. :)

Labelled is being an idiot tonight.

More evidence that journalism is a lost art. (Carryover from another thread)

It's not as bad as you make it sound.
It's just the rush to be first in this day and age.
Some are still trying to do the get it right first but that gets lost in the shuffle.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

Which is why I say it's dead. Journalism should hold being correct as the paramount virtue. Being first is like being that a hole on articles who says "FIRST" in the comments sections. Congrats.

Twins keep revamping their staff each season and end up with the same record.

I guess the GM needs to be fired.

They need to shake things up. The Twins will likely fail to reach 70 wins for the fourth consecutive season. Given that prior to last season the Twins had never gone more than 2 years without at least winning 70 games, I think it is time to switch things up. I was really hoping this would be that sort of breakout year for Minnesota where they would be in contention for something in September. For the fourth consecutive season, the Twins fail to play a meaningful baseball game in September. That's simply not acceptable for any franchise in any sport.

Crazy to think that this current run is even worse than any 4 year stretch between 1993-2000.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

Hughes misses the $500,000 bonus by one out. I'm thinking the Twins will go ahead and honor it.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

It's funny to think that this will be the team's best season record since moving into Target Field. Maybe the Humpty Dump was good for something.

I always knew their success derived from that patch of concrete behind the pitchers mound that turned all their ****ty ground balls into base hits.
