Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

That call was a gift.

6 straight series wins. Let's get that elusive sweep tomorrow.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

Guess which ump has dinner reservations?

Hehe, that he missed twice already. However, he did need to make sure he gets there before the kitchen closed :D

I'll take the gift; I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunity for "pay back" at some point during the season.

Does the 2nd base ump get credit for a save too? ;)
I'll give it to him  :)

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

That wasn't even remotely close. I can understand the wrong call if the ball is inches from Hudson's glove when Podsenick touches the bag...but the ball was at least 5 feet away.

I'm happy they won, but that was a horrible, horrible call...

That didn't even qualify as a "neighborhood" call.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

Could someone fix Kubel? That'd be swell. .185? That's very Laudner-like.

0-5 and the average down to .169 after tonight. maybe its time to sit him a few games and let Thome get some at bats? I know he's not a "Gardy Guy", but he is tied for the team lead in HR despite having half the at bats of the rest of the team.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

They would have won anyways...one bad call wasnt going to make the Royals any less inept...and even if they tied it you know they would have just dropped two balls next inning and the Twins score again :D

I didnt read back, but if people are taking shots at Cuddy (I believe DL called him the "Rally Killer") I will say without a doubt he gets my vote for team MVP for the month of April.

When they lose today you guys can all hit the panic button :p

I said the same thing last night at the bar. He's still the same Kubel, he's just in a slump and even when he does rip the ball it is a line drive right at someone. I say give him 3-4 days off to clear his head. This is a perfect reason why we signed Thome, right?

Yeah but it is also the frustrating thing about Gardy, he seems to think players can always play their way through it. It is why he will still pitch Crain and Mijares and why Kubel will stay in the lineup.

The team is winning and has the series already give the slumping guys a few days off that is what I say.

Maybe they can bring back Lew Ford.

Gardy has to pitch somebody (or last night, everybody.) If he didn't use the guys who were struggling, he'd quickly run out of guys. We have a lot of hitters who aren't exactly hitting great right now, and we're still finding ways to win. It helps that we make a lot less errors and walk less batters than our opponents.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

Well, Kubel is not playing today, according to Yahoo.
