Re: Minnesota Twins 2010 Season Part III, {sigh}

Does Target Field have a secret bar too? :confused:

I have to admit, the location of TF is very good. The bar selection in immediate range is grand.

I am not aware of any secret bar (nor was I aware the dome had one), probably because "homosexual geeks" are not in on the secret.

Yeah, we don't take kindly to your type. (c) South Park

At the Dome it was called "The Sun Room (IIRC)," and there was a tiny sign by the side corridor, hung from the ceiling of the main corridor, where you go in. It looked like a service corridor.

You had to have season tickets to legitly get in, but if you showed up at the right time, the rent-a-cop wasn't there yet, or didn't care too much about the entrance requirements, to get in otherwise. Real booze/beer, couches, and multiple tvs.

It was nice, although it took some work to find it in the first place.

Joking aside, I do have access to the secret bar except they advertise it. The Met Club.

Also, I believe they sell real beer in Target Field but I could be mistaken.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010 Season Part III, {sigh}

Anyone know if the beer at TF is real or 3.2? I'm getting conflicting reports from google.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010 Season Part III, {sigh}

The Secret Bar was no secret, and it was not hard to get into. It also wasnt the only bar if you knew what you were doing ;)

I am about 99% sure it is full beer at TF. I know it was at the X (so we were told when I worked there) so no reason it wouldnt be at TF. Not that I care, I will never pay that kind of money for a friggin Mich Golden or Premo. For the price of two you can buy a bottle of Jameson and bring it in with you in your coat ;)

The beer at the X and I assume at TF is real beer. They learned from the Dome's and Target Center's mistakes.

And as for the Sun Room, I hadn't heard of it when growing up, although I only went to 3-4 Twins' games a year. And there's a LOT of people who didn't know about it. :p

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010 Season Part III, {sigh}

BTW if it isnt full beer at TF you are all getting ripped off. At the Convention Center we sell ONLY full beer and we charge 2-3 dollars less per beer!

I thought the general rule was if you sold liquor to the masses (like the X), you really would be hard-pressed to not serve real beer in the same fashion.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010 Season Part III, {sigh}

I would think if you're serving hard liquor, you're serving full strength beer. Unless it's Mich Golden Light which is pretty much 3.2 beer to begin with... :D

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010 Season Part III, {sigh}

The twins have wasted so many opportunities, it's really no surprise they're losing this game - although giving up 6 runs on 5 hits is just awful.

Walks will haunt. What, like 9 of them tonight? :mad:

Twins RISP Fail(TM) was back in full force tonight, too. :mad: :(

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010 Season Part III, {sigh}

(that is not nearly as lameas the wave, but more lame than the Angels fans and their noisemakers)
But the Halos also had the rally monkey, taking them to new levels of lameness. Especially that little kid in the monkey costume the year they won the WS.

See, at least when I participate I'm usually drunk, the game is a blowout, and we're in the field.
At the Dome, the worst possible time to do the wave was when the Twins were in the field, because then the fielders couldn't hear while the oblivious and soon-to-be-leaving fans cheered absolutely nothing. Cheering a play or anticipation of one -- fine. Cheering because you get to stand up while throwing your hands in the air while the guy next to you does the same? I don't have to say it; we all know what that is.
