All the while, gardy is sitting in the clubhouse having an aneurism as that dumb**** ulger burns through the entire starting rotation.

By tomorrow our rotation will include anthony swarzak, deolis guerra and kyle gibson.

Maybe if they hadn't brought in Meatball Matt to being with. We'd have won this game two hours ago.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

So two out of the three closers were unable to pitch, so they put the third closer in in the 7th putting Jesse Crain in a position he's not familiar with?!?

This game was an abortion....The starting rotation is screwed with a major series starting...The Twins need two out of three against Texas to keep the lead in home field playoffs and they used two of the starters tonight....

**** it...I'm going to bed...

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

Yeah but one of those starters was Blackburn so it was a wash in his case :p

If Moonshot didnt have sand in his vagina he could have lost it in regulation and everyone is happy ;)

I almost rather they just lose in the 10th. Then everyone can get some sleep.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

The Twins have known since Tuesday that Fuentes couldn't pitch. So they enter the last two games with only Manship, Craen, Flores, Guerrier, Rausch, and Capps available in the BP. Yes, it is a bad break that both Baker and Capps have sore arms the same night, but running out of arms in the 11th inning of a September game with expanded rosters is just not excusable. For all of the good pitching moves he's made lately, this was a bungle by Smith. And the management in the dugout knows the situation, so they have to save one guy in the pen to be the last guy and pitch until the game is decided. Given he currently is total crap, IMO that should have been Guerrier. That mismanagement helped cost them last night's game, and compromised the pitching staff for who knows how many games in the future.

LaVelle Neal is saying on MLB radio that Fox (I did not get the first name) will make his major league debut tonight when he starts against Texas. They're calling up 2 more pitchers today as well.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

Yep, that's him.

He had a nice line about Gardenhire after the game. When they asked Gardenhire about the fans who stayed for all 13 innings, he replied "Good for them. They saw more innings in the ballpark than I did"

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

I know it goes against sport right at its very core, but once they ran out of pitchers they really should have let them win. Actually, maybe they did. Then Valverde couldn't throw strikes so not swinging wasn't an option anymore.

Gardy was in his office waiting for the call from Smilin' Bud Selig telling him it was a draw. :D

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

Good job by Fox in his debut. I never thought they'd get a line like that out of an emergency call-up. Also nice to get a couple of key hits from Span and a clutch throw from Repko. Huge win.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

Glad the Twins came back last night. I went to bed at 2-1 Rangers. Not because they were winning, but because I was wiped out tired.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

Twins 5-0 after 1 inning. No Mauer, no Valencia. What's going on here? :D

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

Jim Thome goes ahead of Mark McGwire in the homerun count, 584 for Thome, 583 for McGwire.

Going to the Twins game tomorrow. It was a random date my family chose. Not only do they close out Hall of a Fame weekend, but they have an Old Timers Game, Twins Fedora giveaway, and Ben Revere makes his MLB Debut! :D :)
