Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

Depends how they count I guess.

3 on for walk, is 2 LO
3 on for dp is 3 LO
2 on for SO is 2 LO

Leadoff hit in 2nd or 3rd inning, means 3 more LO for the 3 outs.

So yeah I can see that.

I saw it that way too after I looked at their stats a bit more closely. imho it should be left on base after 3 out...

um... I think you're calculating that wrong. A walk doesn't count for LOB as far as I know...

He's referring to the site I was referring to. They (MLB.com) had 11 LOB for the Twins after 3, which was preposterous given how many runners they had at the time. Clearly they were counting any runner on base that didn't score during any plate appearance regardless if it it were the 3rd out of the inning, which goes against the standard accounting.

Ahhhh...

As an aside, there are actually two LOB statistics: Team and individual LOB. Both are calculated quite differently.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

Delmon young sucked serious balls on defense the past few years. Denying it is just sticking your head in the sand.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

A-Rod: 4-6 with 3 HR off Guerrier.

This looks promising. :p

And a grand slam. Surprise, surprise.

Make that 5-7 with 4 HR.
