Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

Twins schedule seems pretty tough the rest of May. Despite the opponent winning percentage of only .516. I wouldn't call any of those teams, except maybe Seattle a walkover.

CWS (13-19)
@NYY (21-9)
@TOR (19-14)
@BOS (16-16)
MIL (15-16)
NYY (21-9)
TEX (18-14)
@SEA (12-19)
Baseball Talk???? What are you thinking??:D

The Brewers can be a crap shoot - either they win a game by 20 or roll over like a puppy wanting a belly rub.

It'll be interesting when the Marlins come to town - they have hardly lost on the road.

I would rather read and listen to Lavelle E Neal III over Reusse any day. Hell Joe Christensen is a better baseball writer than Sid's lapdog from Fulma :D

You write better and know more about baseball than Pat. That said, I'll never understand your Punto lovin' ways. :)

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

...who are so awful that their show was canceled in favor of national programming. Listening to Sludge & Lake was like this...

Lake: I love basketball!
Sludge: I can't get a date!

And it went on like that for two hours. I used to really enjoy Common Man...but he's stepped up his game even more than usual and it's really annoying. I get the "he doesn't get sports" schtick. But even when he's actually having an intelligent conversation about sports, he can't get facts straight or even try to sound smart. I used to only listen when Rosen was on, but the way Common and Tenna twist what he says into something to fit their means is just obnoxious.

I don't mind listening to Lake, but it has to be minus Sludge.

dude.

What's wrong with Hubbard?

The company...nothing. The station...plenty ;)

As for May, The White Sox and Seattle suck so that is a good beginning and end to the rest of the month. Milwaukee and Boston aren't setting the world on fire and Texas is a tease. I dont think the month is that difficult unless you go by name recognition. (Yankees not withstanding because Gardy can't beat that team)

Is anyone else excited for this. Mischke back in the time slot he belongs.

Dude it is on CCO, he will be lucky if he gets to talk for 2 minutes before 8 minutes of commercials :p

pssh... There are nights where he doesn't say a word. I'm sure he, and his audience, will get used to it.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

Except 106 wins is absolutely unacceptable. They need at least 110 wins, homefield advantage throughout and to win the division by 25+ games.

And they have to do it while hitting above .300 with the bases loaded or they are just ripe to fail!!!!11!!!

:D

Really? Rand is better than trying to fight a "One guy on Twitter said something!" straw man. That's about as lazy as it gets, and part of the reason why nobody bothers to pay for that sort of stuff anymore.

It's more than just one guy on Twitter saying something, but that illustrates his point pretty well I think.

I prefer the RandBall post on the food, from the guest poster. First, she's mighty perty, and there are pictures of her sucking down asian noodles and entire paragraphs where she describes "delightfully juicy and thick" sausages.

I was honestly waiting on someone to post those entries, and I had my money on you.

Pay the man!! :D

And I don't disagree with her conclusion, but my sample size just isn't large enough yet to declare a winner of my own.

I'm glad that I didn't disappoint. :D

From my experiences at TF, I agree as well, so far the best thing I've eaten there is the K-whatever Polish with kraut and onions. I need to try the steak sandwich and the cuban. I've tried all of the dogs/brats, none of the mexican, none of the italian and none of the state fair. I still have plenty to get to.
