Watched their game against UBC a few weeks ago. It wasn't too bad. And the announcer got their names mostly right!!

Looking for a better result in today's game. Stay out of the box ladies or get the PK working and it a whole different outcome.

Tuning in for the game just starting. You're right, better video than I remember. Go Mavs!

Well, let's hope this weekend against the Beavers produces a better outcome for the Mavs. The last two weekends were pretty rough, but I don't think the final scores reflected the whole picture. We're lacking offensive punch, but I liked that the team kept in the game, even when the score kept climbing (i.e., against the Gophers). Hopefully, the two weeks to prepare helped the team rest, recharge, and refocus. Bemidji had a strong series out in Ohio, so don't take anything for granted, Mavs!

I expect a couple intense, close games in this series. Mavs may have the edge in goal. Beavers should get a lift...maintain some momentum from a good weekend in Columbus. Shiners notwithstanding.

The games this weekend looked real good for the Beavers. The Mavs were flat. There were sparks of pressure, but nothing that you could call sustained control. This team has the tools to be better than their record shows. Somebody on this team needs to get them sparked up.

Making any sort of comment based solely upon the Minnesota series is questionable given how lopsided it was but the Mavericks struck me as a team with some talent that plays hard but with no plan at all. I'm not even sure that I'd say that it was too much individual play, just that they didn't seem organized. Right now the total is a lot less than the sum of its parts and the contrast with when the Gophers played both Bemidji and St. Cloud was stark.

Agree with the observations - they do have talent, but every time I think they are getting their act together it fizzles. They are working hard, but haven't caught any breaks. The first game against Bemidji was very flat; they seemed to do a little better during the second. I don't know who's taking charge on the ice or on the bench. The girls seem to get along well, but don't have that spark. Hopefully it will come.

You're right. Some of it points to effective leadership within the group. Don't know much about the captain or if she is getting any help from the other seniors. There doesn't seem to be any internal strife amongst the team, it doesn't mean that it isn't there below the surface. They need to rally together for the series this weekend.

Unfortunate injury to Maverick recruit Anna Keys, wishing her a complete recovery:

"Fortunately, Minnesota State University has honored its commitment to Keys. She signed her national letter of intent Wednesday and should be ready to go as a freshman next season."

Two much needed, and deserved, wins last weekend. Nice to see the monkey off their backs! Let's hope they can carry that momentum through to St. Cloud-
