Minnesota State 23-24: Getting back the mojo post haste

Congrats to Bemidji. Now Mavs need pull themselves together and clinch home ice. Hopefully the Beavs have a serious adrenalin hangover tonight. Go Mavs!

Shut out both nights. That's pretty bad. The only reason they saved 4th place (and home ice for one round) is that Bowling Green lost.

Northern Michigan comes to Mankato next weekend. I'm not at all confident.

Saturday night was a mess. Couldn't score a goal against a team using the game as a practice session, playing a second string goalie. Geez. Lowest point of the season. So far.

Northern Fan (grad) here. Depends on which Northern team shows up. They tend to go into a funk at times and look very lackluster. I don't see Northern putting together two solid games in your house, based on what I have seen this year.
But, you never know.

For all the highs and lows of this season, let's make sure to recognize what a phenomenal season -on the ice and in the locker room- Sam Morton gave us this year.

Absolutely. Another terrific performance last night. Much appreciated, and much needed. Where would the Mavs have landed this season without him? Invaluable.

As good as Mavs looked this weekend, I still have to wonder about yet another defensive giveaway goal last night. Thought they should have broken that habit by now. Please no more!

Speaking of a good second half, hats off to BG for their remarkable turnaround. They pulled themselves into contention after being DOA in the first half. Thinking coach Eigner might get Coach of the year award. It may depend on how his team finishes. Your thoughts?

I wrote the above quoted comment back on Feb 20th after BG had tied for first in the CCHA standings after a decent win streak. Fast forward three weeks, and BG lost six in a row, season over and the coach fired. Shows what I know.

Apologies to all, especially TalonsUpPuckDown.

Time for a large helping of Crow. Somebody pass the ketchup.

LOL. It's really sad about Ty but it was time. Wishing you guys the best of luck on Saturday.

Congrats to the Mav Women's and the Men's BB teams for pulling off the rarest of them all...dual championships in the same year. A magnificent two-fer!

BB isn't my sport, but this helps pull me out of my usual end-of-hockey-season funk. Big Congratulations to both teams!

Apparently there's something about years ending in 4. UConn men and women did the double in 2004 and 2014.

Not my sport either, but two entertaining games for sure. Men's game for the dramatics and women's for putting on an absolute defensive clinic.
