Minnesota State 23-24: Getting back the mojo post haste

Hopefully in a couple of years, we won't have to endure the old man jokes anymore.

It's been a whirlwind of a summer for Woodbury's Aiden Grossklaus - The Rink Live | Comprehensive coverage of youth, junior, high school and college hockey

"I'm very excited to be a part of their new rebuild and their new era at Mankato," said the Woodbury athlete. "They've had a long history of going with the older guys but it seems like they're picking up a lot of more skill guys now and I'm really liking that and I'm glad I can be a part of it."

I never minded the "jokes." 1. We were winning; and 2. Those guys were available to come to other schools, too. I guess those coaches just didn't evaluate talent well and couldn't develop players like ours could.

That said, I am excited to see what some of the younger kids can do.

I did enjoy watching the older age go from a joke among Gophers fans to something that was going to kill college hockey when they all of a sudden couldn't win a game against the Mavs. That being said, wouldn't mind seeing more of a mix with some higher-profile youngsters coming in.

Mavs get an 07 commitment. Strand really is trying to build a younger team.

I would also like to thank my parents, my family, friends and coaches for all the support throughout the years!#rollmavs https://t.co/zdyFVbCHwR" / X (twitter.com)

Nice game! You could see the difference getting that first goal made. Moravec and Murr look like real players. And I've loved Steinmetz's commitment to working hard and playing the right way going all the way back to his Sioux City days.

Completely agree with Moravec and Murr. It's encouraging to see freshmen step up.

Well, what a fantastic opening weekend! Couldn't be happier with the Mav sweep over St. Cloud. Great confidence builder for the team...and their fans!

I have to admit that I didn't expect this after everything the program has been through. Lots of fun this weekend. The road continues to be tough with UMass next weekend.

The sweep of St. Cloud has Mav Nation breathing more easily today. Keep an eye on freshman forward (and former Wisconsin commit) Moravec.

Great weekend. Glad I was able to make it on Friday, was cool to see the vibe in the arena do a complete 180 from down 2-0 to coming back to winning in OT. Agree on Moravec and Murr, Moravec espically has all the tools to be a fan favorite being the one to revers the Kato to Madios trend. Liked Brian Carrabes, too, he's got some wheels. Could easily see him being a solid 10-15 goal guy.

UMass should be interesting, granted it was against Michigan but they showed they can score some and also give up some last weekend.
