Minnesota @ North Dakota 10/16/09

Re: Minnesota @ North Dakota 10/16/09

I'm not quite so confident. Still 5 periods of hockey remaining, and that was UMN's first hockey all season.

Minnesota looks softer than a Denver Jelly Doughnut and UND is banging them around like a punching bag.

Series over.

Re: Minnesota @ North Dakota 10/16/09

Well, nothings changed. Congrats to the Sioux on their series sweep this weekend.

I think you could be an honorary Maine fan, but you're too positive. You're actually waiting for the season to start before emptying the glass. A Maine fan would have been griping before the season even started.

Gophers were apparently 1-2 on the PP despite not scoring any goals...

LOL

Figures. I see they were outhit as well. Puck possession was ghastly and given the 15-4 faceoffs that's not surprising. Hell, Minnesota had better faceoff numbers a few years ago when they had no true centers on the team, now they have them and can't win any.

Outhit, outhustled, let Gregoire just walk through the slot to bang the puck home. That was just plain ugly hockey.

Gophers looked a little rusty towards the end of the period. Hopefully they'll regroup and come out strong.

Re: Minnesota @ North Dakota 10/16/09

UND has really controlled play so far this period...
For the 1st minute, UMN didn't even touch the puck.
