Minnesota @ Michigan State: 12/6 & 12/7

Re: Minnesota @ Michigan State: 12/6 & 12/7

Looking forward to seeing Wild draft pick defenseman John Draeger play. I believe he is from Edina and played at Shattuck.

I can't find anything to generate disdain fior MSU just yet outside of the color green. I have a feeling this team won't find it necessary to bastardize the handshake line and will generate simply a hard-nosed/fought rivalry. Want a sweep obviously, but I expect a real test for their first road conference series of the year and for that can't say that I expect it. Well maybe just a little.

He had a good series against Princeton. Still not sure if he's at full form yet since he was out with a knee injury until two weeks ago.

I don't know if you guys will be tested or not. Anastos' teams have generally played well against top competition, with the exception of this year. However, we didn't have Berry or Draeger for the early part of the season, and in their first games against WMU it was pretty clear they didn't have the conditioning yet. I'd like to think it'll be like two years ago when we went 1-0-1, but that was a far better MSU team.

And we'll do our darndest (apparently the other word is banned?) to take down the Buckeyes.

Arrow. I've got a guy I know who was very vocal to me about MSU for a few years after the NC, but he has been quite a bit more silent the last couple years. Wanting to be able to e-mail him the results is added incentive.

What size rink does MSU play on?

And no I don't want to look, that's why I am asking.

From Jason's blog in the Strib:

"• The Gophers will be without Tom Serratore and Vinni Lettieri this weekend at Michigan State.

Serratore was hurt in Tuesday’s practice and will undergo an MRI on Wednesday. Lucia said it’s a sprain that affects his skating, but team trainers are hopeful the senior forward will return for the Mariucci Classic in early January.

Lettieri was banged up over the weekend against Wisconsin. Lucia said he will likely only miss a week of action before getting back on the ice.

Serratore’s absence will break up the recently hot Gophers third line of Serratore, Travis Boyd and Seth Ambroz and test the team's depth once again. Last week, Connor Reilly was successful on the second line filling in for injured Taylor Cammarata.

Cammarata will be back in the lineup this weekend. The freshman forward sat out against Wisconsin with back issues."

Chance for a couple other guys to step up. Was Bisch a healthy scratch last week?

Yes, Coach confirmed that in an interview I heard. He did say Jake was playing well but the competition was intense and he was the odd man out (not his exact words, but that's what I took from it).

Look for Bischoff to be back in the lineup this weekend.

Re: Minnesota @ Michigan State: 12/6 & 12/7

****, I hate to hear that about Serratore. That line was not only looking good, but plays a style that this team desperately needs in my opinion.

Good news is that after this weekend he'll have a lot of time to get fit before they play again.

It will be interesting to see how they shuffle the lines. I could see just sliding C. Reilly in there with Cammarata back this week, but I could also see them move Guertler onto that line with Boyd and Ambroz...

I think Guertler would be a good fit on that line.

In place of whom? I'd like to think he sits Marshall one night but I know he won't. Holl and Bischoff each play one game...?
