UM's won MORE Natl Titles than UMi - 5 to 3.

UM's been to more Frozen Fours than UMi - 17 to 13.

UM's been to more NCAA tournaments than UMi - 31 to 24.

UM's won more games in the NCAA tournament than UMi - 49 to 35.

UM's won more Conf Tourney Titles than UMi - 13 to 9.

UM's won more Hobey Baker Awards than UMi - 4 to 2.

UM's gotten more former players into the US Hk HOF than UMi - 16 to 6.

former Gophers have won more Gold & Silver Medals in the Olympics than Michigan - 9 to 0, & 7 to 3.

And if I looked it up, I am sure UM's won more games head to head in the series than UMi.


Michigan might as well not even show up this weekend.

Edit - And I almost forgot to mention, UMn's contingent in the NHL is outscoring Michigan's contingent at higher than a 3 to 2 rate.

The Gophers should probably play Shibrowski tomorrow night, get him some game time against a "B squad" type team. Never know , he may have to play against a Jan Brady in the NCAA's if Wilcox doesn't show up or some thing. Would be nice to get NCAA "battle tested" but that won't happen with this lame opponent, we are 3-0 against them.

Naw, better to play Wilcox, give the ugly helmets another loss, get their PWR knocked down a notch and then watch em get desperate at the Conf Tourney.

Gophs seem to have their number this year. Might not be so bad to have them in the NCAA's.

Yeah, that is something to consider. Thing is, unless we drop down to the #2 seed, we probably wouldn't get to face them until the Championship game, or the Semi's at the earliest, and there is no way Michigan would make it that far, lol.

So better for us to get to 35 NCAA tourney appearances and for Michigan NOT to get to 36. See where I am going with this?! lol

I really want to win tonight! Nothing would be better than to win four Big Ten wins in a row over Michigan.

It's feeling surprisingly good to see the Gophers beat Michigan consistently. I guess it's still a good feeling to see an old WCHA rival whipping a team with too much attitude.

The game means nothing to us. We're still going to be in the St Paul Regional as a #1 seed. You guys are fighting for your tourney life. Pretty simple.
