Minnesota hosts North Dakota: Let the hate flow - 11/4-11/5

Re: Minnesota hosts North Dakota: Let the hate flow - 11/4-11/5

I thought that was supposed to be a PS

Re: Minnesota hosts North Dakota: Let the hate flow - 11/4-11/5

Well that was far from the Gophers' best effort of the year, but they did just enough including an A game from Schierhorn to get the W. Fun hockey.

Re: Minnesota hosts North Dakota: Let the hate flow - 11/4-11/5

Well, disappointing result, but it was a nice seeing these two teams playing again. I thought North Dakota played better tonight, but just had zero puck luck (I counted at least 4 posts). Cam really struggled with his positioning on the big ice, and probably shouldn't have played all 125 minutes this weekend...did not deserve it. Oh well.

Congrats to the Gophers on the win tonight, and getting the better of the series. Good luck the rest of the way, and maybe we'll meet up in March or April.

On a side note, Gopher announcer just said they don't know when these two teams will meet again...what an idiot. They have contracts to play each of the next six seasons.

Pretty good weekend for the gophers. Look forward to the next dance.

Helluva series. Did not expect this result at all. Was hoping for a split at best. I also hope we meet up in April. ;)

Would love to meet up at the Regional in Fargo. The place would be absolutely nuts.
After no wins in the last four games, what makes you think the Fighting Hawks will make the Regional?

Re: Minnesota hosts North Dakota: Let the hate flow - 11/4-11/5

The relevant question now is whether wins against Big 10 schools are considered club team wins for PW purposes. After last night's embarrassing tie, I hope so.

I guess you won't have to worry about this one.

Because it's early and this team will take a little more time to gel. And I will be at Scheels Arena for the Regional so they have to be there damit ;)

Glad see that coach "Dingle" Berry supports local businesses. It must take the output of a whole fracking well for all the North Dakota crude he uses to slick that hair back.

Also nice to see that #37 can steal a game for the boys sometimes.

We don't know that they will. We knew their D would have a lot to learn, and you never know how things will come together, as defense is a more difficult position to learn at this stage, IMO. One good thing is that they will have a tough conference schedule to get them in fighting shape. But Hawks fans will probably be anxiously watching the pairwise rankings late this season more than they have in the past. UND will lose a bunch of games, but hopefully they will win enough to get them to the dance and then see what they can do.

I noticed that too.

Am disappointed in the "Fighting". Was hoping they would be coasting after their victory and maybe a little complacent when DU came to town.
Speaking of fighting, it seemed like the first period Friday both teams were trying to live up to the old hatred which had been built up in the press and by alums on both sides.

You all realize that this is the typical UND slow start, right? Just sayin'.

Actually this year they started the season with 5 consecutive wins. Not exactly typical...
