He is doing a great job in an impossible situation. Hopkins has NO shot in the Lake. They have very little talent or numbers in their youth ranks while facing Edina, Wayzata, Minnetonka. Rolf has them playing competitively and they gave the Hornets a bit of a scare last night. Were outshot by a huge margin but kept the game close. I sat and talked with Rolf's dad for a while as he was keeping stats and he filled me in on where the team is heading. I know Pete Waggoner too (he does the play by play on the streaming on-line games) and Pete's kid plays JV for Rolf, so I get a little bit of info there too.

ETA: Our kids played Osseo-Maple Grove last night and had the first 5 min major penalty call since the new rule. Was a check from behind against an OMG kid. Called by a hockey icon - Jack Carlson! Our guys got 2 during the major PP.

Figured this needed to bumped up...Section Pairings are being released! Best time of the year in HS Hockey. Hope I can make it back to the X for the Tourney.

I know Sections 3, 6, 7 & 8 in A and Section 8 in AA have been released.

Wow that 6AA bracket is nasty with Minnetonka, Benilde, Eden Prairie and Wayzata.

it always is...what shocked me was that Holy Family Catholic is now playing up. They have not been a good class A team, losing to Delano in their section (quarterfinals) the last two years. I remember watching them play Blake or Breck tough a few years ago when a former Huskies little brother was playing for HFC, but to think they are playing up voluntarily is interesting. I certainly hope schools like Breck, Blake and St Thomas follow suit...but I doubt it.

All I can do is the Wednesday at Mariucci. I would love to see some teams at the Fair Grounds, but I am busy that night.

It would be nice if St Thomas Academy took the hint and played up as well.

Cretin also loses to hastings, prior lake beats holy angels, forest lake beat grand rapids a couple days ago, centennial loses.
Holy upsets.
