Minnesota Gophers Off Season thread - 2016

Re: Minnesota Gophers Off Season thread - 2016

Any word yet on TV coverage? In need of some good *****ing. I am guessing AK is out for TV, but seems like they (Anchorage) had a student webcast one year. Anyone know if that might still be the case? (Or am I the only Gopher fan left on USCHO?)

I haven't seen anything about tv schedule yet, which is slightly annoying.

The games in Alaska will be available to stream on wcha.tv
It costs $8-$9 per game, $20 for a month, or $105 for every game played in a WCHA rink all year.
I had this package last year and while the production, stream and commentary quality varies rink to rink, overall it's pretty decent.

Good. Now I can *****. I understand the Alaska Games and U18, but no coverage of Northeastern and BC!?! Only 2 of the first 7!!!!! And no coverage of an MSU AT Mariucci?
Northeastern has a free HD stream online. St. Lawrence may also have a free HD stream. Clarkson is free but may not be HD.

Every single game broadcast on a legit channel in HD after 12/1. I'd say we killed it this year on the TV coverage. As far as the Kato game, it's at home so you go!

I thought there was free streaming from AK, it has been in past years...might have changed, though. I still mainly lurk on the D1 side, pretty much stick to GPL for hockey postings, though. And on game nights, you can most likely find me in the GPL Live Chat, instead of the USCHO Score Update area.

I would hope a couple of those games get picked up but who knows? I know it isn't TV and that will rub people the wrong way, but rumor over on GPL has it that the Northeastern, St Lawrence, and Clarkson games will all have free internet feeds. If you can get your laptop hooked up to the HDMI on your TV you can make a good night of it. It's not ideal but I'll take what I can get. And like Brent mentioned, the Alaska feed was free in the past, let's hope that is still the case!

And here's to hoping FSN picks up all or some of the @SUCS and the Minnesota St series!

Hockey season is right around the corner, I'm not gonna let a couple internet only games drag me down.;)

Can't speak for SLU or Clarkson but Northeastern does indeed have a free stream (your choice of HD or SD). Just go to www.gonu.com and follow the prompts or https://portal.stretchinternet.com/northeastern/. Video production is usually top-notch though the PxP guy is sleep-inducing.

Enjoy, but only to a point.

I remember the Northeastern feed from two years ago(I think...?) when the Gophers played out there and it was very good!

UAA used to have free streaming, but they are now part of the wcha.tv package that was negotiated for the conference as a whole. So you will have to splurge for those games.

Honestly, if you are a college hockey fan and you can afford it, the all-season pass for wcha.tv is completely worth it.

Internet is better than no game but: 1. For some explicable reason I can't figure out, my tv all of a sudden stopped working with a computer and HDMI cable. 2. BC is the Eastern game I want to see the most. (but thanks to those schools that stream.)

Thanks, but I am old with a bad memory. Please re-post a couple days before the game in the game thread and it will all be good.

you want someone to come tie your shoes for you that morning, too? :p

Re: Minnesota Gophers Off Season thread - 2016

They did. Only one of the Kato games (at home so I know a way to see it...) didn't get picked up yet.

For Comcast users, channel 999 in the Ridgedale area often has SCSU games, and channel 13 has Kato games. Not really advertised, from my knowledge.
