Re: Minnesota Gophers 2012-2013 Part II: Mmmm, Iron City Beer!

They did.
Schmidt's amazing hold the puck in the zone, sidestep a sliding bucky, top shelf laser with a minute or so left play.

Actually that win only helped you win it outright. You'd already clinched a piece of it Friday because UMD lost.

Re: Minnesota Gophers 2012-2013 Part II: Mmmm, Iron City Beer!

What kind of fans are the kind who want to celebrate, AFTER A LOSS?????

Or would you have celebrated, NOT in front of your home fans, BEFORE the game though they STILL had not yet won the title OUTRIGHT, only to LOSE the game?!

I guess what I am saying is, who wants to have a big celebration after LOSING and letting other teams CATCH YOU, or before losing and letting other teams catch you?

Man, act like you've been there before. Who cares if you actually haven't been there before. Had you had the Cup, and celebrated with it AFTER your LOSS, what then? Season over? You go to the WCHA conf tourney and lose in first round? Because you accomplished all you could accomplish this season? Because its a glorious thing to back into a tie when you had a chance to win it outright?!

Please tell me you aren't that kind of fans?!

HAD YOU WON, someone from UMn would have had to drive away with that Cup to deliver it to SCSU, and not only would you have the satisfaction of having WON A GAME to OWN IT OUTRIGHT, you'd have the satisfaction of DENYING the Gophers their opportunity to celebrate. You could CELEBRATE THE WIN, AND THE TITLE the win helped you OWN OUTRIGHT, you could have celebrated all week how you denied the Gophers their celebration, AND THEN, you could have CELEBRATED AGAIN, in front of your fans, at the official presentation of the Cup.

But the fact that you wanted to DENY the Gophers their right to celebrate their WIN and their HOLDING ONTO WHAT WAS THEIRS already, shows a lack of class. We WON our game. You LOST. WE RETAINED the Cup, and HAD TO WIN to do it. Had we lost on Friday night, where do you think the Cup would have been Saturday night?! But we still had a chance to WIN IT WITH A WIN!!!!!

I'm sorry, I've read all the things people wrote and understand their reasonings as to why the Cup COULD HAVE been in Madison Saturday night, and I respect those reasons, but I disagree, VERY strongly.

Celebrations should be reserved FOR WINNING.

Do YOU know how to EXPRESS yourself in OTHER ways than deciding to type SELECT words in all CAPS?

Yes. And btw, you got it down. That was very good use of capitalization to put emphasis on the words you wanted me to really notice.

lol

Congrats to the Gophs and SCSU, and thanks Wis! (And where is the guy from UNO who, about mid-season, said it was a two team race and UNO pretty much had it locked up due to ease of schedule compared to the Gophs'?)

That's right. Where is that dude? Is he off crying somewhere?

Re: Minnesota Gophers 2012-2013 Part II: Mmmm, Iron City Beer!

Seeing the reaction of the Husky fans its ALMOST like the Gophers won a 51% share of the MacNaughton Cup. They know its an equal share 50-50 right? Good to know whenever I need to push the buttons of a Husky fan all I have to do is ask them where the MacNaughton Cup was the weekend they first won it.

It was comedy gold.

It was comedy gold.

And it still continues. Think they will take a break when they actually get their hands on the Cup? Figure it can only go on a few weeks until they lose in the first round of the NCAA. :D

My bet is Jan does not make the NCAA, but yet Cindy and the Purple Moo will. :D

Re: Minnesota Gophers 2012-2013 Part II: Mmmm, Iron City Beer!

You are on, but debt is to be payed in Oct when Jan comes to Beavertown. Lose one game this weekend and Jan is in a world of hurt.

GopherBigGuy911 -- I'm not seeing what your seeing? I'd even give you favorable odds and bet you, but I don't bet against fellow Gopher fans. But I'm thinking you are going to lose that bet.

What do you need explained to you???? Jan is 12th in pairwise - a loss to UAA and an early loss in F5 they become a bubble team, lose the series to UAA and they can start golfing early.... It is pretty simple actually.
