Gopher Hockey at the fair today.

Have a question for the Minnesota Men's Hockey Team? Come to the "Great Minnesota Get-Together" and ask the Gophers yourself!

Members of the Gophers men's hockey team will be at the Minnesota State Fair at the University of Minnesota Building at the corner of Dan Patch Avenue and Underwood Streets from 2:00-2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 28.

Junior captain Zach Budish will join senior assistant captain Seth Helgeson and junior assistant captain Nick Bjugstad at the university's building on Tuesday afternoon. The three players will be joined by head coach Don Lucia for a 45-minutes question-and-answer session with fans and the general public.

I've got a full bottle of Captain waiting for me that I'll do some practice shots with this weekend to help get ready for the season. But I'm not sure why you had to ask. Should have just been expected.

Ah dirty, if you only knew that grand forks is where i was born and lived there till I was in middle school, but i never bought into the sue sh-t and that town sucks.

Which is why Bland Forks works. I am puzzled by your reluctance to go with the name. It works much better than Gay Forks, doesn't it?

Lucia on replacing Kent Patterson in net (2012 State Fair interview)...

"It's going to be tough replacing an All-American like Kent, but we're confident in the guys on our roster. Michael Shibrowski will be a junior this year, and Adam Wilcox is coming in as a freshman out of South St. Paul. Those guys will both have a chance to see the ice, and they'll battle for playing time."

Kent will not only be hard to replace, but the question is can we even come close to Kent's ability? Sounds like Shiby and Wilcox might end up sharing net time. The Gophers look solid with a lot of depth at every position, but goalie is obviously the weakest link in the chain.

Wilcox was middle of the pack among 21 goalies in the USHL last season...not very impressive. Shiby has only played 3 WCHA games (2G/34 Svs/CC, 1G/5 Svs/UMN) for a total of 95 min. of playing time. Aside from all the hype about this coming season, with the ? in net, it's very possible the Gophers could fail to hang any banners at all this season (channeling Scooby this evening).
