I've heard him offering verbal encouragement to the officials.
Hard to imagine Ludwig and Doocy needing any assistance.
I was going to post that...it was obvious CD felt the officials needed some advice.
No. The last time they did was in the NCAA Championship game.Have the Gophers given up a 2 goal lead this year?
I didn't see the struggle to which you refer. It was a 5-2 game, Gophers dominated play (and the eventual scoreboard), dominated shots on goal (and the eventual scoreboard). To be sure it wasn't as dominating as a high school game with the clock going to running time but I thought the Gophers played a strong game and achieved a complete and quite thorough victory.5-2 win. More of a struggle than the score indicates.
Have the Gophers given up a 2 goal lead this year?
I agree. Coming off two emotional weekends in Madison and versus the 'Pups, I thought UM came out hard tonight and responded well after being tied. The team did a good job of keeping pucks deep in the third period.I have no problems whatsoever with 5-2 over Ohio State in Columbus.
5-2.
Please, please, what in the name of Gordie Howe, Rocket Richard, and Terry Sawchuk, and John Mayasich, Neal Broten and Doug Woog, and Krissy Wendell, Natalie Darwitz and Ronda Curtin, is wrong with that?
They are 29-0. You are required to say two positive thoughts for every negative one.
It sounds painful, but sacrifices have to be made.My head will explode if I try that.
Captain Brausen wears the hard hat:

brookyone and D2D,
For those of us not in the know, can you say a little more about the hard hat? Sounds like a fine tradition.
I tried to find a post-game quote on YouTube or quotes in "The Daily" where the players answer that question, but all I came up with was Jen Schoullis referring to it as, "... this ridiculous hat ..." The player awarded the hat selects the next recipient. I'm not sure, but I don't think that it is given out after a loss. This is at least the third year that they've been doing it; I know that I can remember talking to Laura May while she had it on. I don't think I ever saw it on Gigi. Maybe it goes back to Brittany Francis and the other seniors from 2010? Not sure. Anyway, I think it is along the lines of rewarding someone, not necessarily the star, that had a good, hard-working game that stood out. They try to spread it around, so rookies tend to get it as soon as they have a big game. Being young women, they really don't want to have to wear something that looks so goofy, but there is still a pride that goes along with it.For those of us not in the know, can you say a little more about the hard hat?
