Minnesota Golden Gopher Women's Hockey 2012-2013, part II

That alumni band guy
Should I subtitle this thread "the climatic ending"? Seriously though, much healthy (and maybe some unhealthy, but such is life) discussion about the team as the season has gone along.

Two games to go. Home stretch, at home no less. To quote the great philosopher, Lawrence the Television Content Provider, "Get 'er done!" ;)

Re: Minnesota Golden Gopher Women's Hockey 2012-2013, part II

I was going to put these in the Frozen Four poll thread, but they're pretty Gopher-centric so I'm posting them here instead. All of these are from Bob Sansevere at the Pioneer Press.

Women's Frozen Four: Gophers' Amanda Kessel felt effects of 3-OT win

Women's Frozen Four: Gophers haven't had 'off night' all season, coach says

Women's Frozen Four: Gophers' Noora Raty has bad memories of last BC game

With two more wins, Gophers best women's hockey team ever

Tweet from coach Brad Frost...
Congrats to @meganebozek @AmandaKessel8 and @Nooraty41 on being 1st Team All Americans. Great honor and well deserved. #GWH #LND

This game being available online is keeping me from the X tonight. Two in the bush are better than one in the bush!

Joe tweeted this this morning but it holds true for me as well:

I've had a love/hate relationship with Minnesota for a while now but if you don't kick the everloving **** out of BU tomorrow, you are dead to me.

Typical BC response. So far most of the comments from the other WCHA teams are in support of Minny. BC cares for BC only.......

Uh, yeah, I'm in support of the team that I, uh, support. Why would I not be? Am I supposed to suddenly change my rooting interests because my team is no longer in the tournament? I couldn't care less about Minnesota, but my remaining rooting interest in this tournament is to see my rival's team lose. Is that unacceptable to you? Idiot.

I await your response, because that's pretty high up on the list of dumbest comments I've ever read on this forum.

Is the championship game really not televised? I am in MN and don't see it listed. Anyone know where I can watch?

Again it is typical. A hockey east team has never won it all. I was rooting for both of the Boston teams to win. I do have a biased interest since I've coached girls on both teams but I would like to see to an eastern team win it all. I get that you root for BC but then you root for the west to win again.

My niece played at BU, and was not a Gopher fan even though she's from MN, but I am sure she wanted the Gophers over BC. Any other Eastern team, I am guessing she would have rooted for over MN, but not BC.

Re: Minnesota Golden Gopher Women's Hockey 2012-2013, part II

I understand where BC is coming from. I would like to see the WCHA win mens' and women's titles every year. Unless it's the sue that has made it to the finals. Now next year it will be the same for the Women's championship but I will be pulling for the big10 in Men's hockey.
