How about starting a 2013-14 thread?
Could be talking about them a ton when they're right around .500 going into November...
The 2013-2014 GWH roster isn't void of players capable of scoring...beyond Hannah Brandt, that is. Obviously everyone staying healthy and in the lineup will be key for best success. Much as it is for any season.Better hope #22 stays healthy or scoring will be a major issue. Frost got a huge break with her being snubbed for Sochi.
If I had to guess, I'd expect more struggles defensively rather than offensively. Up front, the Gophers project to have fewer holes to fill than coming into last season. Kessel obviously leaves a mammoth void, but beyond that, Kortum is the only other loss from the team's top 10 forwards. A year ago, three of the players from the top two lines had graduated. All of the rookie forwards have been scorers in their careers previously and had US U-18 experience.Better hope #22 stays healthy or scoring will be a major issue.
Meghan Lorence on leadership:The Olympic year is always an interesting year... We have a great core coming back.
I know how tough it can be to be a freshman, so I'm going to be as welcoming as I can to our new freshmen.
After being deep fried and soaking up that much grease, I doubt that even the corn and the wheat know the difference. On a lighter note, Hannah Brandt got seriously razzed for saying corn dogs and pronto pups at the State Fair are the same thing.

On the other hand, three of the six D are gone, and two of the returners, Ramsey and McMillen, are stronger offensively than defensively. The team won't approach the 216 goals scored last season, or even the 181 of the one before, but the big drop will be from the defensive effort that limited opponents to 36 and 54 goals respectively.
