Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey: 2011-2012 Season Thread

"Joel's legacy as the Gophers athletics director will be a lasting and shining one,'' said University of Minnesota President Eric Kaler. "Personal integrity, a remarkable record of NCAA and Big Ten compliance, increased academic excellence by our student athletes, a deep commitment to gender equity, business and operational acumen and overall athletic success have been among Joel's hallmarks."
Rumors about this development abound. That's all I'll say in this venue...other than I'm sorry to see Mr. Maturi go and wish him the best.

Anyone in Gopherland have a phone number to the appropriate UM department that one can call and speak to an actual humanoid to cancel an All Access (if that's what it's called) subscription to UM Women's Hockey instead of fighting endlessly with their confusingly difficult and unuserfriendly website?...failing which, a simple email address might do as well.

Thanks in advance.

"Now go on get! don't be comin' back
Yer kind don't belong and I'll kick yer..."

Back and A** don't rhyme.

I've actually subscribed and cancelled a few times with no trouble. All after logging into my account then account info page where the cancellation option is near the bottom with a drop down menu for selecting a reason for cancellation. You may have already tried this method a few times unsuccessfully but it appears the easiest procedure to accomplish cancellation to me. Easier or more likely to work than an email I would almost bet. They ought to have a phone # to call but I don't see one anywhere. Sorry...all I can come up with.

Thanks, but that's part of the problem...when I enter my email address it tells me that there is no such account...but that is not correct...and I can't log in...I enter my subscription ID and it doesn't work...I can't get through the front door.

Problem solved...but casualties were incurred.

IMHO they well deserve an earful for their inaccessibility and substandard customer service procedures. Goes for all live video providers for me. I will say the video stream from the NHC last night was quite good with excellent play by play. Which was very different than my previous experience with America One. The "event" link was actually active before the puck dropped last night rather than becoming active halfway thru the 1st period.

Couldn't agree more.

I commented on this last week that I, too, was impressed. Full marks for their efforts. My only 'druther was that the brightness control be dialed down a bit...too much glare off the ice....made it difficult at times to see the puck and some of the play.

Can't let the past weekend slip away without noting Noora's major milestone in the annals of GWH. Congratulations to Noora. Before she's finished I believe Noora may set a mark that will be very difficult to match or surpass.
Agreed with the kudos to Noora and the related comments.

Also kudos to Becky Kortum on picking up her first goal of the season, and Ms. Kessel made a good bid for a Gopher earning a WCHA POTW award for the third consecutive week (assuming Noora doesn't get it).

Re: Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey: 2011-2012 Season Thread

Noora is about to break another team record -- the one she set last year for most wins in a season. After picking up win #25 yesterday to tie her win total from a year ago, there's still two games to play in the regular season and the best-two-of-three WCHA quarterfinal. I like her odds of setting a new mark.

If she stays healthy, I agree. Congrats to Noora on back-to-back 25-win seasons!

Are you insinuating that someone from a certain green-clad team might try to run the goaltender? Perish the thought. ;)
No. I didn't mean that anyone would intentionally injure anybody else, just that we've had enough players not dressed for various reasons over the last few seasons that one can't assume people will be good to go every game.
