Re: Minnesota Girls High School Hockey IV

Ashley Corcoran - Sr - St. Mary's
Becca Zarembinski - Sr - Hamline
Leah Schwartzman - Sr - Hamline
Isabel Bianchi - Jr - St. Thomas
Alison Parnell - Jr - St. Thomas

All well and enjoying some of the finest D3 schools in the nation.

Re: Minnesota Girls High School Hockey IV

...how about a where are they now for this group from any posters in the know in this slow season. Interesting that many of these girls are Seniors this upcoming year (the seniors from this at least)

Kelsey Crow / D / 2015 Minnetonka / Sr at PENN STATE

I wouldn't say I'm in the know, but just from having watched her for three seasons I'd say Kelsey Crow is going to do well in her "life after hockey" time. She's been a solid defender at Penn State, a three-time alternate captain, led the team in blocked shots last season, made the All-CHA First Team last season, and has been recognized for her academics in all three of her seasons so far (All-CHA Academic, AHCA All-American Scholar, All-Big Ten Academic, Big Ten Distinguished Scholar). She's one of nine Minnesota players on the 2018-19 Penn State team.

Re: Minnesota Girls High School Hockey IV

Brianna Jorde is at Bemidji State
Rebekah Kolstad, Megan Hinze and Jordan McLaughlin are at Minnesota State
Hailey Nielsen and Erica Schramel are at UW River Falls

Emily Bergland, Abby Halluska and Kiki Radke are at Bemidji State
Brook Schugel and Catherine Johnson are at UMD
Ellie Martini was at Middlebury
Sophie McGovern is at Norwich
Sydney Conley is at UW Stevens Point
Jessie Aney was one of the most brilliant youth players in the state but is playing tennis at UNC
Abby Cooper was at Lake Forest
Allison Roethke is at Quinnipiac
Paige Sorensen and Jess Bonfe are at Merrimack
Brianna Storms is at Northeastern

Just a couple of these names not playing hockey

I am planning on attending and was wondering if some others may be there as well...

Re: Minnesota Girls High School Hockey IV

Wasn't able to attend as planned and in following online a bad second period (gave up all 4 goals) for Blake has them down 4-1 but they have scored early in the 3rd to make it 4-2...

Madeline Wethington with the hat trick makes it 4-3 late in the 3rd...And that's how it ends.

Blake finished very strong, outshooting the Hornets 19-10 in the 3rd, but couldn't get the equalizer to send it to overtime. Also of note, Edina's CC Bowlby also with the hattie, staking her team to the 4-1 lead in the second.

Cake eaters were outshot, FWIW, in the first period 15-6 but outscored FL 4-0...wind up rolling over FL 7-0.

Also Makayla Pahl got a win even though Mayo was outshoot pretty badly again by Austin.

"People in the know" say the Gophers got the best of the bunch. :)

And based on the past history of the winners there is almost an 80% chance that she will be the 2019 Ms. Hockey. :)

And, based on the past winners' success at the D1 level, winning that Ms. Hockey award has proven to be very prophetic.

That's ok. UW can't get ALL the awesome players. The last 2 Ms Hockey's that have gone to UW were solid 2 way players, but they didn't dominate as much as one would expect with that award on the mantle. Sylvester did get a point a game her Sr. year. Norby was tracking towards the point a game club through her So. until this year. The jury is still way out on our Ms Goalie, but she is the primary back-up to Soup.

Looking at that list, almost all of them that played for the Gophers won a ring. Gigi did not. Renee Curtin didn't ever get to play, but her UM class won two titles. Zumwinkle and Heise -- I like their chances.

As for winners who went to other teams ... not so much.

This year's class of skaters looks to be down a bit from the previous couple.
