Re: MICHIGAN TECH OFFSEASON THREAD II: The Winning has started

It's just my opinion but I'm pretty sure UND is happy with the WCHA. However having said that it would be negligent of them not to listen to the guys from DU who are hell bent on getting a new conference going for whatever reason. I do think that the WCHA is looking at adding a couple of more teams though and I agree the CCHA is in trouble. Emphasis on looking at...

No one knows just how far this is from happening, but first I'd be surprised if UND left and if they do Tech's future lies with what the two alaska schools do. but again, just my opinion.

Who do you see as leading the list of teams to join the WCHA?

Quite the ruckus on the other thread that UND is the one pushing this and not DU. Why look to add another team? At 10 now and who would they add? ND to destroy the CCHA?

I would seriously doubt UND is pushing this. I'm pretty sure the idea originated in Denver, and imho they are really pushing hard to make it happen.

The reasons to me do not hold water, but they have their own agenda and they think it works for them. I think if it does happen, which is pretty iffy, it will not be as is advertised on the boards and I think it will be much less successful than they think.

Posted on the Tech hockey guide twitter feed, I thought it should be posted here.

TechHockeyGuide Sources indicate Justin Fillion and Samuel Labrecque have uncommitted from Tech.

Does anyone know what happened with the timing of Sturos and Johsntone coming to Tech? Is Sturos still 2011 and Johnstone 2012?

IMO, UND is the new MN of the WCHA. What they want, they will get, due to money. They don't have to push if someone's doing the pushing for them, for example. If UND doesn't like that push, then they will "wake up" and say what is what.

Not sure about Sturos, because based on his injury-riddled year, I tend to think he wouldn't be coming this fall. As for David Johnstone, I believe it was rumored (Note: not just speculated) that he may have been bumped up a year, though there was no confirmation and Heisenberg's list still has him coming in 2012.

Wouldn't it be great to meet one of these so called super teams in the first round of the NCAA's and beat their butt's.? Makes my mouth water.
