I think as a Tech fan it's a given you have to be cautiously optimistic.

Also, since when is killing fuzzy bunnies a bad thing?

Is it time to be optimistic?, maybe after a couple of good wins, and the goalie showing he can play in pressure situations. Still with so many players leaving for greener pastures, no reason not to think optimistically.
I understand also that mr mcD has agreed to coach along with tim watters as assistant.

If there is one thing JR will always be, it is upbeat and an excellent salesman. He didn't even attempt to play the injury card last year unless specifically asked, and each week he tried to remain as positive as he could given the circumstances.

That said, predicting a Top 5 finish just one season after finishing in last place with a resounding thud, excessive injuries or not, would be laying it on thick. With a significant improvement in the offense I could see 7th and another trip to the F5, however I think the Dub is too much of a meatgrinder and this team is too questionable on defense to consider the Cinderella scenario.

No not this year so I dont have to go watch hockey in a FOOTBALL stadium.

Also I'm holding out any optimism till after the Superior Showdown/Showcase.

Yeah, no kidding, they could have at least put it at Cowboys Stadium so we could watch the game on a 5 million foot flatscreen TV.

Took boxing lessons this summer
Wife is a biomedical engineering at Boston Scientific in the cities, so he hopes to stay up with the team

Likewise on both points, though I'll very likely end up going to the football stadium anyway.

And yet, if MTU did make a run to the Frozen Four, you would be there with bells on.

Keep in mind too, Russell will be happy just to coach a reasonably healthy team this year. That fact alone has to make him much more optimistic in the face of reality. The one question I would have for him right now is his opinion on the Dobson situation and whether or not he is considering keeping Drew at forward to start the season.
