Re: Michigan Tech Offseason II: We Won as Much Hardware as Ovechkin!!

Someone needs to sneak a hidden camera into the locker room for the speech. Can you say "instant youtube hit"? :p

Despite how hilarious that would ultimately be, I can think of at least one locker room I would rather sneak a camera into.

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason II: We Won as Much Hardware as Ovechkin!!

Rumor has it that Michigan Tech has signed a player from the Swedish J20 League (top junior league in Sweden) but no official announcement will be made until he clears the NCAA Clearinghouse. He apparently participated in one Elite League game (professional league) but was not paid and did not sign a contract with the Elite League. Academically he is fine. Hopefully we find out before their trip to Europe.

In other news some of last year's seniors will be making the trip to Europe with the team. They are still eligible to participate if they have not signed a professional contract (so no Dobson or Gwilliam).

We may be allowed to bring him over, but I'd bet that the NCAA will make him sit half his freshman season for that one SEL game in which he probably didn't see more than ten minutes of ice time (if any).

Hopefully not, we shall find out. If its who I think it is after some research, he should be a very good player for the Huskies (after he gets used to playing mostly on the small ice, etc).

This sounds like another MTU player setup of excitment only to be let down when he doesn't get through the clearinghouse.

Probably why, even if he's signed on the dotted line, it's being kept on the down-low until he's cleared for certain. After what happened with the last two, that's smart. In the era of the Internet, all programs are faced with over-hyping of and misinformation about recruits.

HAHAhahahahahahahaha

This is still a Tech recruit, you know. ;)
