Actually, JJ's Wok in the Pearl Street Mall is pretty good. Before that opened though, the pickings were slim and you pretty much had to be friends with exchange students. Ming's is your usual $10 ACE buffet - not good, but OK for a quick, cheap meal. The Hunan Garden downtown (which I think is what Flashy is referring to) was all sorts of awful.

This will be another Mings in that building across from KFC. One that is more of a sit down restaurant opposed to buffet style.

I agree it was a perfect decision, however, soley wasn't all that hot and Russell can definitely coach.Quite well thankyou. We just need to quit losing the number 1 recruit to juniors every year.

Funny thing about Seth, one of my co-worker's cousins is/was dating Seth and Seth was out boating with her family and telling everyone he was going to transfer to Bowling Green because he didn't like Tech's programs anymore (no mention of being booted off of the team).

Pretty much confirms his attitude.

I don't know as that he got the boot so much as that he brought it on himself with his crappy play and lack of interest in improving his game or listening to the coaches. I believe the decision was more or less a mutual one, after the coaches allegedly told him he could dress for the UW series in February and he decided he'd rather stay in the press box.

At any rate, he's gone and I'm glad the saga of his mid-season disappearance is officially over.

Source says Soley was simply never happy with his playing time, particularly in light of the fact that the team didn't do much better with him sitting down, but the coaches didn't feel he'd earned a shot at a bigger role. Soley wants to play, so it was an easy decision for him.

As some people know, I was never a big fan of his, nor was I keen on Russell recruiting him in the first place. So naturally, I think it's best that he has moved on.

Word outta the Meese Center where I work is that an inmate has escaped from the Houghton County Courthouse / Jail

Good thing my house is locked, since I can stand in my front yard and hit the courthouse with a paper airplane

Word out of the DMG is that this is indeed true. Go figure, he's from Calumet. If I had to guess, that's where he's headed. Not like he's necessarily a "threat".

Keith Harri, 23, of Calumet, escaped from the jail around 1:10 p.m. His whereabouts are unknown.

He is 5 feet, 9 inches tall with short blond hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing an orange Houghton County jumpsuit with no shoes.

Harri is charged with breaking and entering and a count of receiving and concealing stolen property. A preliminary hearing on the charges is scheduled for Aug. 2 in 97th District Court.

He is in jail for violating his parole on a burglary sentence.

Didn't some loon escape from that facility south of Twin Lakes a year or two ago? I think it only took a half day or so to get him back. It's not like public transportation is in abundance up there, and if he's wearing a jumpsuit, I doubt he'll be hitchhiking.
