And now to ctf who more details on the story.

From what I've heard, it's going to be different than it was before. The former owners' son is opening it, he's actually the advisor of a certain fraternity in Hancock. I've got a friend who's going to be a bartender there, and that's definitely not something I remember them having last time. Only time will tell, I suppose.

I believe they had a liquor license and sold "Asian" beer (Tsingtao, Sapporo, etc.) from a refrigerator, but they didn't have a proper bar with a bartender. I only went once, which was enough for me to know it sucked.

When I was much younger, it was a really hot commodity, and granted I hated Asian food, my family went there a good deal on "special" occasions, somewhat in the Pilgrim River sense.

Actually, JJ's Wok in the Pearl Street Mall is pretty good. Before that opened though, the pickings were slim and you pretty much had to be friends with exchange students. Ming's is your usual $10 ACE buffet - not good, but OK for a quick, cheap meal. The Hunan Garden downtown (which I think is what Flashy is referring to) was all sorts of awful.

Ming's and Ming's Buffet were 2 different places. I'm guessing that Flashy is talking about the original Ming's restaurant, which wasn't a buffet. I think it closed during my first or second year at Tech. I got the impression that it was better than the standard chinese buffet chinese food, but I never ate there, so I don't really know.

Gotcha. The way he called it "Ming's Garden" I thought maybe he'd just mixed up Hunan Garden and Ming's Buffet.

the old Ming's (not the buffet) was good. use to eat there alot when we first came up.

I don't like urine in my cheerios, the flavors mesh much better with a cereal like cinnamon toast crunch.

Whatever happened to the chef's in the CTC commercials? There used to be three of them, then there was only Wendall and now even he's gone.

Considering he's going to a program that has won a national championship recently I think he'll be ok
