Michigan Tech Huskies at St. Cloud State Huskies: Eyeing the Finish Line

Re: Michigan Tech Huskies at St. Cloud State Huskies: Eyeing the Finish Line

Beef, potatoes, and carrots wrapped in a crust made with lard? There is nothing bad about it.

If they didn't surgically remove any and all taste from them, you'd be correct. If I wanted to eat some sort of flavorless mush, I'd just chew on some styrofoam.

Re: Michigan Tech Huskies at St. Cloud State Huskies: Eyeing the Finish Line

But enough about pasties...I'd love to believe the real Huskies could take at least a couple points from the fake ones, but I don't see it happening. Jan is just too good and deep this year. They can taste the Mac from here and they'll be ready to close out this series to get to it.

Re: Michigan Tech Huskies at St. Cloud State Huskies: Eyeing the Finish Line

My last non-hockey comment...you've all clearly eaten the wrong pasties.

Hockey content: As a SCSU fan that has been attending games since the NHC opened, I will always fear, and almost expect, the worst until the games are over. I certainly hope the players don't share my attitude. I do think we SHOULD sweep this weekend, but won't be shocked if we don't, because we St. Cloud State and it's kind of like being the Vikings or the Cubs.

Re: Michigan Tech Huskies at St. Cloud State Huskies: Eyeing the Finish Line

mmmmmm, pasties. And I'm not even a yooper.
I'm shocked that you like them.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, the Breakfast Pasty at Roy's Pasty in Houghton is the greatest form of pasties. So good.

There is little doubt that the breakfast pasty is the best form, but we had regular pasties at career fair for lunch and they were delicious. I have certainly had bad ones over they years, but generally, they're good.

I've had bad ones at the career fair lunch before, but usually they're good. I'm not sure why they'd change from year to year.

Re: Michigan Tech Huskies at St. Cloud State Huskies: Eyeing the Finish Line

The players know what is at stake with these games. Prochno said it on the coaches show (available on the center ice club website), "If we focus on the big picture and not on the games this weekend, the games next weekend might not matter." And that is coming from a sophomore. The players know these games are important. Absolutely no reason we shouldn't take 3 or 4 points at home against the 11th place team in the conference.

Re: Michigan Tech Huskies at St. Cloud State Huskies: Eyeing the Finish Line

Since 1998, Tech is 0-18-2 in the NHC.
Don't think those percentages are accurate.

I don't think they are, either.

That said, I'm not saying SCSU does or doesn't sweep, but, I will say this. The longer any streak goes on, the more likely it is to end. The law of averages. Michigan Tech would appear to be "due". A 20 game winless streak at the NHC?

With wins against the Gophers, UNO, and Western Michigan so far this season I think Michigan Tech could find a way to steal a point or two this weekend. I think they are easily the best team of the bottom 3 in the league.

Re: Michigan Tech Huskies at St. Cloud State Huskies: Eyeing the Finish Line

I guess people are more interested in pasties than this series.

Re: Michigan Tech Huskies at St. Cloud State Huskies: Eyeing the Finish Line

Lord knows it's more fun eating a pasty than watching Michigan Tech play.

True...had a couple last night, and enjoyed them immensely.

Well. I suppose I should have expected that. Good thing I was the only one in the conference room before meeting :)

Are pasties anything like Pierogies?

Re: Michigan Tech Huskies at St. Cloud State Huskies: Eyeing the Finish Line

So is that Mean girl from Tech still floating around these parts?

No but she'll be in town for the games.
