I don't think they're the only ones who use the ole chant, but I agree, it's stupid no matter who uses it.

I didn't mean to lay claim that they are the only ones that use it, but I do not recall another college hockey team that does it. Either way, MSU is the most known for it.

And we have been told we can't us cowbells anymore in a stadium with a guy whose jersey says "cowbell guy"

According to NCAA rules, you can use cowbells (or "artificial noisemakers") between the whistles. The MTU Misfits carry printouts of the rules when visiting other arenas. Ran into this problem in Duluth.

This reffing seriously has been an absolute joke tonight. It's not the reason we lost but it didn't help.

From the radio call (Dirk) it sounded okay. MTU just played sloppy, from the sounds of it.

There was a lot not called on them that we got called for. Let me put it this way, a team doesn't only commit 2 penalties on a weekend, it's not possible. Now like I said it's not why we lost but it didn't help.

yes but congratulations to the mavs on the McNaughton. it's a foregone conclusion at this point. They were just a bit better and we never got into our game.

MSU is a solid team. I fear that somehow MTU and MSU will be in the same bracket (FTR, have not done the math). I would love to see UND/MSU/MTU and yes, somehow miracle MN into the F4.

I saw a couple of homerish offsides calls, but nothing that affected the outcome. Mankato has a great team, they made our guys just look bad more than anything. It's still the only team I've seen this year that can do that. The better team earned these points.

I saw the tUMD series at Houghton in person. They are tough, too.

I think that was the most evenly played series I've seen, never really felt like UMD was clearly the better team like I did watching Mankato.

That's a good point. MSU is better than tUMD. tUMD was so even. Friggin' scary, and a helluva series to watch that weekend. So entertaining.

Classy act by the Misfits. They hung around after the game and clapped when our seniors were honored.

The Misfits are why I started cheering for Tech long ago (2007ish). They are true college hockey fans, and embody sportsmanship.

The only way to properly settle this would be for MSU and MTU to play on April 11th in Boston.
