Michigan Tech at Minnesota State 2/27-2/28: Who wants the MacNaughton Cup?

Re: Michigan Tech at Minnesota State 2/27-2/28: Who wants the MacNaughton Cup?

MSU's leaders and best players produced. Tech's leaders and best players struggled. (Kudos to Johnstone-Steman-Sturos). Last season and this one MSU 4-0-2 : MTU 0-4-2. Congratulations Mavericks.

Unless Bemidji can pull a miracle and Tech can handle their rival, the Cup goes to Mankato.

Disappointing weekend, but still so much to get ready and play for.

We need to get into the WCHA championship game as another step.
BG will be a formidable foe if tech can take care of the first round and get to the XCEL.

Mankato is a very good team, Tech needs to learn to play their game when faced with such pressure.

And we have been told we can't us cowbells anymore in a stadium with a guy whose jersey says "cowbell guy"
I've never had anybody say anything about my cowbell. Security has even asked what's in my jacket pocket, and I've told them it's a cowbell.

Kudos to the Tech contingent on their level of intensity all weekend, and sticking around for the honoring of the seniors. I could have done without having to see the guy with the I painted on him, though. :D

Haha. That's why we all booed when they named him fan of the game. :)

4 years of hockey while getting a degree is something to be cheered for no matter where you are. And kudos the Mavs players for including us with their lap. Speaking of the I guy... Williams noticed him too, gave him the chest shake he was doing all night as they slated by. Absolutely hilarious.

I saw all 4 games. They all could have gone either way.

A person has to admit that the Mavs are better with puck control, finding the open shooter, and positioning however. Deeper and stronger with great coaching.

Thankfully there is only one MSU, watching MTU play them makes me very nervous about the NCAAs but hop fully we go in strong and end up on the other side of the bracket. In other news, BGSU needs to stop losing or they might find themselves out of the tournament.

Happy to see Mankato do this well, especially since it's probably the first time they've had a target on their back since going Div I and they held serve. Good luck to both teams unless they should have to play UM.

Although it wasn't planned, it was great meeting you and some of the other MTU Alumni. I truly do hope we see you in Boston.

I had no idea we weren't allowed to have cowbells anymore.... I've been stopped by security and told them I had a cowbell and they let me through. When did the cowbell ban go into effect? Not even the small hand-held bells are allowed anymore?

From the sounds of it it's in effect when you're a fan of the opposing team.

I think what they were told was that people were tired of hearing the noise and complained. It was probably just to stop the opposing fans from being loud.
