Re: Michigan Tech 09-10 Season Thread: Let's go to Detroit. Twice.

Anyone have any recommendations for hotels near the JLA? I decided that it was time to start investigating things.

The GLI doesn't usually sell out, correct? I'll probably try to buy tickets through RPI.

I hear the Renaissance Center is nice, usually I just stay with friends out in the Suburbs.

TONIGHT ONE NIGHT ONLY

Michigan Tech head hockey coach Jamie Russell and his assistants will
discuss recruiting and facilities improvements at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct.
6, at the Begg Conference Center of the MacInnes Ice Arena.

Coaches will talk about last year's graduating seniors, the direction of
current recruiting activities and specifics about this year's incoming
freshman class.

The event is free and open to the public.

Attendees will also have the chance to meet the freshmen players and
take a tour of the hockey facilities and new skyboxes.

The event is sponsored by the Michigan Tech Blue Line Club, the Keweenaw
Chapter of Alumni and Friends, and the Michigan Tech hockey program.

Depends on your price range ralph. But the Book- Cadillac is great, the Pontchatrain is also good, if you have a car, then the suburbs near the airport has lots of descent hotels. Also the casino's are good, the MGM Grand is walking distance, has a good parking garage, Food, etc.

sorry for the double post. Has anyone taken a look at the miami/ st clown thread, it makes the Tech/nmu woofing thread look like child's play.

Also, my experience is that some years the GLI does sell out, but I doubt it this year. It used to be you had to have tickets at least a month ahead, but not any more. I think tickets are cheaper thru the university.

I am bringing my kids, maybe a mistake!

I can confirm this. Perhaps a bit pricey (I don't know this for sure--I stayed there on the University's dime) but it's nice, and a short ride on the People Mover from the JLA.

So there is some nut named 'SportsFan77' who posts over at the DMG and is about to have a heart attack after a 3-1 win over Ryerson, when Northern beat them 11-2. I tried to set him straight, but I'm guessing it's no use.

The real test will be whether or not he says we should fire Russell after our loss to NMU this Friday.

All the suites are officially sold for multi-year contracts as of today.

So, John Scott just pounded the crap out of George Parros, he gets a great jab in at the end to take him down to the ice.:D

Re: Michigan Tech 09-10 Season Thread: Let's go to Detroit. Twice.

Does anyone have bullet points from tonight's meet the coaches?

Edit: I wish we got KSTC down here in southeastern MN, I only get Wild games on FSN. And go Twins!

Re: Michigan Tech 09-10 Season Thread: Let's go to Detroit. Twice.

John Scott fought Parros early in the third, when the score was 3-0. Now it is 3-3, the announcers are giving Scott the credit for firing up the team and crowd with the fight to fuel the comeback. :D

I can't wait for my John Scott, Green Wild third jersey shows up, it is going to be AWESOME!
