So why did Derek Grant not come to MSU in 2008-09 when other freshman played like Leveille, Perlini, Henderson, Merrifield, Warda that did not have his junior hockey production. Was it scholarship availability? Grant is a 1990 and he was drafted by the NHL in the mid-rounds, but stayed another year in the BCHL while MSU had significant scoring issues last year. Has Comley ever spoken to that?

Comley gambled he had a whopper of a class in '08 and could afford to let Grant lead the '09 group. A gamble he needless to say lost when the whole thing went to hell last year. Now only 6 of the nine '08 freshmen are still around and 4 of them get regular playing time.
As it turns out, though, Grant's a better player / more ready freshman for getting that extra time. I say "extra" even though it's not unusual for even really good players to do a couple years of tier 1 junior. Grant also had a relatively late start at that level.

Although it looks as if Tropp was deserving of the second chance. However one small slip-up and I say hang him by his sack.

I am much more concerned about UofM taking shots at Tropp then i am of him doing something like that again. I have watched Tropp his entire career here and is not a dirty player but i wouldn't doubt that some michigan players have put a special target on his back, especially with word of michigan's behavior last weekend.

I think michigan is going to play much better this weekend than last, though.

I think michigan is going to play much better this weekend than last, though.

Hard to tell what's really going to be the attitdue. Red really called out his players in a press conference for their rather childish play. He called them spoiled brats.

So if he's in control, I doubt it Tropp is going to see any dirty attention.

But, bear in mind that he's leading the country in scoring, so he's going to see MORE attention than anyone else. Checks WILL be finished, for sure. I just hope it's not head hunting.

See, while I don't pretent to comprehend the psychological impulses that lead to that view (and it's prevalant), I am fairly certain that just because you've purchased the clothes and created the persona, you may want to leave the usage of "Little Brother" or similar to the actual students, faculty, alumni, staff, etc. etc. of the "Big Brother" institution.

For whatever reason it's become a tradition in Ann Arbor and I :gasp: tolerate it. But not from the likes of you.

I thought we had the pugilistic exploits of the series in mind; not whatever these cusses did after college.

Who would you rather have in a fight? A guy that's been trained to kill and is in peak physical condition? Or the guy that's spent the past few years playing hockey in Italy? Hard to pick a fight when everybody dives/fakes an injury as soon as you touch them.

The subject is the problem I had with that post. Lil' brother was not playing Miami, therefore the subject is wrong.

It happened... and after much discussion by the officials, the guilty party was given a 2-minute unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for it. The television announcers were disgusted.
