Who would you rather have in a fight? A guy that's been trained to kill and is in peak physical condition? Or the guy that's spent the past few years playing hockey in Italy? Hard to pick a fight when everybody dives/fakes an injury as soon as you touch them.

A lethal weapon - whether its a trained killer, a stick swung in anger or a skate blade to the back all problably don't belong in D1 hockey.

Should've banned Tropp and Gassoff.

Also, although I may yell such things as "take off your skate and stab him!!!!" while at hockey games, I do not condone such activities and would be horrified if someone were to do such a thing.

It happened... and after much discussion by the officials, the guilty party was given a 2-minute unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for it. The television announcers were disgusted.

Not to condone what he did, but considering it only got a 2 minute minor and nobody else has even mentioned the incident up until now (this is the first I'm hearing of it), it doesn't sound that bad.

Like the cheap shot I saw during Saturday's game when a Lil'Brother put a skate blade firmly in the back of a Miami Skater? You think you were depressed after Saturday's game, wait until this weekend Lil"Brother. If you can stand watching it.

If you did say such a thing at a game - assuming in this post you forgot to turn off your sarcasm filter - that means you do condone it, and you need to deal with the consequences when someone does get hurt. It's a little like yelling "Fire!" in a crowded theater, then being surprised when someone gets trampled to death.

Ummm....no. I also yell at opposing goalies to "suck more" or for Boston teams to "go staht the cah" when they are losing. I don't expect the players on the ice to follow my instructions, I merely yell these things to amuse myself and those around me.

Yelling "fire" and causing a panic would not amuse me.

We're probably going to have a physical series and a split. Each one wins on the other's ice. Fights are unlikely.
