I bet you think that little fight a few years ago in Munn was a brawl. That was nothing compared to the melee that happened at Joe Louis in 1991. THAT was a brawl- where the coaches both got suspensions, and it's been greatly speculated that Ron Mason's suspension cost them home ice for the CCHA, which then caused them to get swept in the first round by Western.

THAT was a brawl. Maybe KC can dig up some more news about it- I know he remembers that fight.

History, son, there's a lot more to it than the last 12 years.

I've always wondered... Did Red face any disciplinary action for urinating on the public library in '94? That sort of thing will get you listed as a registered sex offender these days.

Nope, since you don't know about it, he was set up by a State fan, and that fan was grilled about it before finally admitting it. In the end, Ron Mason served a one game suspension for it. Not that it mattered, since state was playing second fiddle to LSSU in terms of on ice toughness vs. UM. Remember, this was the time that MSU lost to some minor eastern team on their HOME ICE AT MUNN in the NCAA. Twice.

Unlike the hated Wolverines, who has won each of the reginals held at Yost. Even when most people agree that they were not the best team in the tournament.

(since you don't know the history, I'm happy to make it up... ;) )

We don't have phenomenol recruiting classes every year, the last good one was 2005 I think. That being said next year should be outstanding too.

So Rust, Hagelin, Palushaj, Caporusso and Pacioretty were all part of an average class?

COLA would be included after my second year, and we're working on converting to locality pay. I live pretty cheap, anyway. I could definitely pull it off.

Actually, I had a brain fart. 2007 was that class and 2005 was the other outstanding class. 2004 was very small (only 2 members) but one of them won a Hobey Baker award (Porter). 2003 was very good too with Hensick, Hunwick, Brown, etc. 2002 was quality as well as it brought us Montoya and Tambellini. All classes are good but they are not #1 classes every year. Close but recriuting rankings don't always equate to National Championships.

Wow, I seem to be disturbed easily these days:

I'm not sure what is more disturbing:

1) a fan so obsesses with hating a program that they know each recruiting class in great detail?

2) a fan who SAYS they are so obsessed with a program that they DON'T know the same details....

Since we have one more day before we really talk hockey, this is going to be an interesting trip between the two....

(and ows- if you ask me, since only 60% of that recruiting class is still here, well, it goes from great to just well above average)

On top of all that, we have a guy from the left hand who is bragging about going to Alaska. As if the UP wasn't bad enough. I knew depression ran deep in Houghton, but not that deep.....

Having been to both Houghton and Anchorage...I'd rather live in Anchorage. Actually, I'd rather not live in either of those places, but I wouldn't mind visiting Anchorage again.


Oh, and [insert rude comment about Sparty here.]
