Michigan State 2009-2010

Re: Michigan State 2009-2010

You guys know I'm green through and through, but I just don't like this matchup for next weekend. Maybe my opinion is skewed because of how bad LSSU played this weekend, but I really feel like we are going to have an extremely tight series next weekend.

So michigan and ohio state advance for sure, and UNO is up 4-1 with 8:43 to go in the third. If western wins tonight then it will force a game three..

Well it just got more interesting as western michigan beat alaska tonight forcing a game 3.. So michigan and ohio state advance for sure, and UNO is up 4-1 with 8:43 to go in the third. If western wins tomorrow then we will play ohio state instead of michigan

Really. Guess that means I don't need to bother going to the game that starts in 40 minutes :p

that's what the ccha website has..thought it must have started earlier then usual...sorry
Just looked at their box score and yeah its messed up, again its the source...

Re: Michigan State 2009-2010

There was a glitch at collegehockeystats.net where for a time they had WMU 5 - UA 3 using a box score from a UAF/UNO game from 2007. Fixed now.

Re: Michigan State 2009-2010

That can happen. A few weeks ago I was getting ready to go to a game, and I checked their site to see what had happened around the league that afternoon. Found out that Alaska had already lost the game that hadn't started, including a full-on box score from a few seasons ago :)

I think that's the same box score in fact. Weird. Oh well, off to watch the game for real, precognitive box scores be ****ed :)

Well thanks for that.. Could have been bad sending around all this false information..

According to CCHA UNO won 6-1..

Yeah... it is michigan vs MSU next weekend... This may make munn more packed though.

yes, but probably not in a good way...I'm sure there will be a lot more Michigan fans than usual with MSU students on break and extra tickets available.

Re: Michigan State 2009-2010

Lets hope then that we can shut up all those rowdy michigan fans real quickly then..

Re: Michigan State 2009-2010

okay fellas, lets get this going...

Any line mix ups for this week? If i recall correctly we saw some adjustments for the last series against Michigan. I think steady as we go is appropriate right now.

My question to you is this...is there a way to put together line combinations that limit turnovers at either blueline? UM's strongest tool is their ability to use turnovers in the neutral zone to create odd-man-rushes. I am concerned about our youth coming into play not at the start of the games when they are the most focused but during the emotionless sections of the late portions of the period where these situations most often arise.

I am not real big on lineups but it will be interesting to see what line Sprague ends up on.

We've got to stay with what's working. Rowe stays with Leveille and Gazley. Keep Sprague in as a senior playing with a purpose, and Perlini with him. I don't see Walrod or Golembiewski on Friday.
So to me it makes sense to have Sucharski, Grant and Tropp as your #1, Leveille, Rowe and Gazley, then Perlini centering Chelios and Sprague, and fourth line Forfar, Merrifield and Nill.
Krug and Petry, Crandell and Shelgren, Josepher and Grassi and #7 Buttery.

Re: Michigan State 2009-2010

Any thoughts on the awards so far.. Palmissano gets on the scholar-athlete all ccha team and is eligible for the scholar-athlete of the year in the ccha. Krug is on the CCHA all-rookie team. Any thoughts on why Derek Grant didn't get on? I mean I know his stats weren't spectacular but he played on the first line all year as a freshman.. that should say something.

Hey pairwise gurus, if we sweep Michigan this weekend will they drop out of the pairwise top 25? Could winning our opening round series drop us in the overall NCAA race?

More on the awards.. Petry, Tropp, and Palmissano all made it on the all-CCHA second team. Was quite surprised to not find any of them on the first team. Any thoughts why?

Hard to figure the Petry one out; he was a force.
