The energy in the building was awesome Satuday night. Loudest sporting event I've ever been to by far, and the students seem to be coming into their own in terms of spectatorship. Just a great time to be a fan of this program.

Looking forward to seeing the renovations a week from Saturday. I imagine the place will be rocking for UNH's only visit this season.

Re: Merrimack College 2010-2011: taking H.E. one chair-back seat at a time

Hey...with law school I don't even get enough time to do that let alone post on these boards every waking second!

I was enveloped with reading this entire weekend so I could ski on Sunday so I couldn't make it to the games, watched Saturday's romping on NESN though. (Ironic that I was up in VT)

I'm happy for Mike Collins, he's gonna be great and will play a role in filling in some of the gaps next year. Honestly felt a little bad for Madore near the end, it looked like he wasn't even trying on Collins' last goal.

it's all about balance and priorities:) ........glad you're safe, i had suspected foul play:eek:;)

I'd expect a pretty full house, it'll be last visit by a top 4 team until (knock on wood) the HE tourney and we all know the Wildcat fans travel well. Anyone who doesn't think the Lawler is a great place to watch a game of hockey is clearly not there to watch a game of hockey.

haha I appreciate the concern. By far some of the best skiing all season, the snow was fantastic.

Merrimack up 2 spots in the USCHO to 12. 10th in the Pairwise.

I will be there, I think Lawler is a great place to see a game.

Thoughts about this weekend's games?

NU has certainly picked it up since the beginning of the year. 6-2-2 in their last 10 and Rawlings has pitched 3 shutouts in that span. So far a split of 2-1 games, and I'd expect something similar here. 2 of the top goalies in the league. Huskies only 2 points bback although Warriors have 2 games in hand.

UMass has struggled. 'Mack needs a good performance at home (I'll take a repeat of the 2nd game vs.UVM please and NOT a repeat of the UML debacle).

Another 4 pt. weekend would be great.

I'll be heading to the matthews on Friday. I hear it's a tough place to play. Also, here's hoping for another big student turnout on Saturday, they definitely feed off the crowd.

What a HUGE comeback win for MC in the road. With a win tonight vs UMA, MC will find themselves in 3rd place while holding the tie-breaker over BU AND a game in hand. And now up by 3 points on UMO. Series up in Orono looks like it is going to decide it. Let's hope for a MC win tonight and a loss for UMO at the hands of the Wildcats.

Nice weekend for the boys. Come from behind away victory and an absolute beat down of the minutemen.

4 points, and a possibility of top 10 in the nation come monday? Pretty sweet.

Good to have you on board Gus!

Would you mind loaning us Nyquist, Abbott and Flynn for March?

Did anyone see the game in Matthews on Friday? Over 100 PIMs. It looked like the refs were handing out misconducts like Halloween candy. Tough to make some of the best players on each team sit for 10 minutes that late in the game.

Just a drive by post - congrats to MC for a great season so far. I never thought I'd see the day where MC is ranked higher in PWR at Beanpot time than Michigan, BU, Miami, CC, and Minnesota.

Thanks for the post Zudnic, this season has been pretty cool (so far). I have to say, back in 04-05 at 8-26-2 (1-22-1 in HEA play) I never thought I would see a 17 win team (Hockey East record for us), much less a team over .500 in regular season play.

To me, this season has been all about balance. We have been solid in all three zones and our special teams play both on the PP and PK is in the top ten nationwide. The freshman on our squad have done a nice job to patch up losses from our 09-10 senior class and everyone on the team has fulfilled their respective roles. Even our backup goalie Sam Marotta has played 46 minutes of solid hockey in relief of Cannata.

Still, there is still a long way to go, and in the words of Coach Dennehy "we haven't won anything yet".

Ditto. What is Merrimack's highest finish in Hockey East? I don't think they have ever had home ice?

Thanks Brian! Our highest finish is 5th place in 1996-97 under Ron Anderson. That year we also got home ice because Maine was declared ineligible for the playoffs, moving all teams up one spot. We took on BC and lost both games 7-6 and 5-3.

The next year in 1997-98 we made the Garden (aka FleetCenter) for the first time after upsetting #1 BU 4-1 and 5-4 in the QFs.

Yea, right. Sitting on wooden bleachers in a bandbox of a rink with a roof so low you can't flip the puck in the air, is my idea of a great venue. Have you been to any other rinks?
