Gryba was a disgrace to the league? You have got to be kidding me. He was an eforcer yes and deserved most of the penalty minutes he got but that was his role and he filled it. I can't remember seeing blatant cheap shot by him. He plays just as physical as your boy Bigos.There is a reason he was the undisputed leader on BU last year. He was a tone setter. You may hate him as an opposition but you would love him if he was on your team. That is how I feel about Bigos. I hate the guy when he starts the cheap stuff against my team but I realize if he was in scarlet and white I would love the guy for his physical play. They both are big guys so they tend to hit guys higher and get more penalties.
And Cucci deserves an academy award for that hit. He was right up against the boards and Clendening hit him standing behind him and he flopped to the ice and banged his head while he was it. He was selling the call for sure. He only missed one game against Lowell(2 days later) and then magically has been ok the rest of the way. That was boarding but it isnt a dirty hit because Cucci put his head down before the game was over and wasn't expecting to get hit. You act like he came flying across the ice to jam his head into the boards. He was simply playing the game out and frustrated obviously so he hit him but it wasn't a dirty hit. Cucci would have played the next weekend if that game was on a saturday night. Merrimack fans out of everyone should be easy to call dirty hits when you play the most 'physical'(read:cheap shots after the whistle) style in the league easily. Not saying every other team is perfect but Merrimack leads the way in that category.

Cucci was acting so much be sat out the next game! anything to sell that "fake" injury, right? and what? just because Cucci put his head down, it's OK for Clendening to run him from behind but he was just playing out the game, so its ok I guess.
I love all this "merrimack leads with the sh*t after the whistle" crap. Most often that happens when a team is losing and frustrated, and they showed that this weekend. but merrimack has won 21 games and only lost 7. A team up in a game late isn't starting crap, its the team that's losing.
and this coming from a BU fan who i'm willing to say probably has seen, at most, 3 merrimack games this year.
bigos is no different than gryba. They're both enforcers, or at least the closest you can have in ncaa. Bigos and Gryba are no different. But I think it is funny that you guys (meaning almost every bu fan I know) thinks that bigos is a cheap hack and Gryba was just a real solid leader and physical player.

does merrimack play "dirty" sometimes? of course they do! every team does! the difference between you and me and I'll admit it when my team plays dirty. the hit from Bigos on nyquist the other night was not clean. shouldnt have happened. but it was no different than the clendening hit. dont say that one is OK and one is not.

doesnt mean Bigos is a bad guy. Im sure he's a heck of a kid, i havent met a merrimack player that I havent liked. and neither does it mean that Gryba is a bad kid. Im sure his teammates loved him. bottom line is that if you call bigos dirty you have to call gryba dirty.
