Both Dartmouth's "Keggy" and Denver's "Boone" are both unofficial mascots that were created to re-dress political correctness initiatives that killed off prior official mascots at both private schools.

Are there any other "unnoficial" mascots in college hockey?

The introduction of the "New" Swoop from a couple years ago. Just about the cheesiest thing ever but I laughed pretty hard with the 5 other students at the football game. Fortunately he doesn't really flap his wings anymore.

That is the worst looking mascot I've ever seen. The head looks like it was made by a 7th grader in Home Ec. Even ctf's horrible high school mascot costume is better than that abomination.

At least he isn't hostile and abusive.

UNH is regularly whistled for Too Many Mascots On The Ice.

UMass' guy is named Sam the Minuteman. Other HE mascots not pictured here include the KKK Friar, Rowdy the Riverhawk, improved from his shiney spandex pants days, and the anatomically incorrect Merrimack Warrior. He has two or three biceps. Though he's regularly the star of the HE tournament mascot game so he can just be labeled the Barry Bonds of HE mascots.
