If God is against it, wouldn't it be prudent to agree with Him?
Only if you believe: a) in God and b) that's what he actually thinks.
If you believe in a and b above, then by all means don't conduct gay marriage in your place of worship. But that doesn't give you the right to deny marriage to other people in society who disagree with your religious beliefs absent some legitimate non-theological reason.
