Maine vs. UNH: Old Ties Die Hard

Re: Maine vs. UNH: Old Ties Die Hard

Any idea who will do the game call for the stream?
If Dan H does it then it will be quality.

I think they just pick up the "home" team's broadcast. The only difference is that it is administered by the league so instead of going to your school's website you have to go to the Hockey East website. So for the UNH/Maine series, for example, it would be the "regular" Maine announcers.

IIRC from last year, if you purchased the entire "package" there was a split screen setup where you could see all the games at once, but when you clicked on one window it would become "active" and you would also hear the audio for the window you selected.

Re: Maine vs. UNH: Old Ties Die Hard

As far as the officiating goes wonder how HE will figure that out...will 2 diff "teams" of officials be assigned? Of course you have no control over it but would hope/think the same team would be assigned to one series 😳(Won't name names 🙄😉)

You can just feel the competitive intensity oozing out of this thread, just like the old days ...

Fox 22 of Bangor will be airing the Friday and Saturday games. No word on Sunday, if necessary.

Fox must have paid Hockey East well to get the broadcast rights.

Perfect. Thanks for that. The two guys who usually call the games on those broadcasts(forget their names) are very good and do a great job IMO.

Dan Hannigan and Oronos own Mike Tuell, who is a former HE lineman.

He must have dinero. Kittery Point is pricey!
He has a production company. He was a afternoon drive guy on local sports radio for a long time. Very creative, wrote some great tunes for every series Maine played back in early 2000s. He has some talent beyond play by play.

Very nice!

You know what's interesting to me also is the fact that Fox 22 ponies up to broadcast these games but no New Hampshire station does!

Yeah that's them Walrus. They're knowledgeable and impartial. I enjoy listening to them do the games.

Dan is a class act, does a great game call, has a good way with the coach interviews. We are lucky to have him.

I wonder what Maines record is when Mike T does the guitar anthem to start the game?

It's not exactly like we're overflowing with TV stations in NH, e.cat.

Maine has two clusters of stations (Portland and Bangor) due to the state's huge geographic expanse.

We have Channel 9 in ManchVegas, and a couple of PBS outlets, now that Bill Binnie's station went away.

Definitely one of the disadvantages of being located so close to the People's Republic to the south of us ...

Portland's WPME (35 over the air) often picks up the Bangor broadcasts. Don't know how far that signal stretches south, though.

I go back long enough to enjoy watching UNH Hockey on NH PBS. Is there no FOX affiliate in NH? Only WMUR 9 remains? What can be said about the commies to the south Chuck?;)
