Maine vs. UNH: Old Ties Die Hard

Re: Maine vs. UNH: Old Ties Die Hard

Uugghh. Just got a gut wrench over the thought of that.

Not me. I think he is earning it. I understand going 1-5 lately sucks. On the other hand, they have a young team and the recruits are looking better. I'd think a three year extension makes a ton of sense. You can see if you have momentum and make appropriat decisions after that well before extension comes due.

Without pulling out data and stats, my seat of the pants analysis is I think that Red is simply not a better than average head coach, just average. I dont think he is a good player motivator nor has full command of the situation.

However admittedly Im conflicted about an extension. I have zero confidence the ath dept would or has the capability to go out and hire a great head coach who would bring this program back into national prominence. They should do it however. Red is a hockey guy, knowledgeable no question, and has some very positive attributes. Keep Red and see what happens is an option, but 3 or 5 years, thats just too long given everything. If a change was made could we end up with worse than Red, yeh maybe.

And this bit people talk about passing off the head coach position to Guite, that is not a good prospect. If and when the time comes he should put his hat in the ring along with other potentials and let the best coach be hired.

Sorry for extending the nonrelevant discussion on this thread.

Yuck no Blackbear free feed this weekend more HE money grabbing 🙄 ?

Nope. That's over now. Once the playoffs start every school has to use the same feed owned by the league (and ultimately the NCAA if you go far enough).

Why do you think they have this "extra" round of playoffs anyway? It's all about revenue...

I read this. Thank you. I love this. But you and I both know there a tomorrow.

I pegged you for getting tickets, what with the inquiry and all.

Asking for a friend and if anyone knows me I'm a last minute type. However will be sitting this one out. Been a long season and am coming back from a trip to Fla too much to handle...not a spring chicken hahahaha so I'll watch and curse the Blackbears from the comforts of home 😉

Yup...that's the reason!
