I'm not sure about season tix again but i'd def be at as many games as possible. I easily think they would get 1,000 more per game. That's conservative if anything. Keep in mind if Tim comes back next year attendance will be even worse than it was this year.

It won't be a thousand if they don't win, might be to start as the excitement will generate alot of interest but if they suck that excitement won't last long. Heck I'll bet Jimmy is good for a thousand and he'll get the benefit of the doubt for quite awhile

That was my whole point. The increased attendance that 1st year would cover Tim's buyout. And to Wally's point if they still suck then the attendance will drop again, but the buyout will still have been paid. It's such a no brainer.

The 20th anniversary of Maine's first ever NCAA D1 Championship is next week. The 92-93 Bears who had a record of 42-1-2 are arguably the greatest college hockey team of all time. Let me repeat that for anyone in the current UMaine Athletic Department who might read this: That team is arguably the greatest college hockey team of all time.
There was not a single acknowledgement of this accomplishment at any game at Alfond this past season.
That in my opinion is shameful.

I offered to help the athletics department organize it because I still have contact with many players from that team and was told it was taken care of. Then it never happened. It wasn't a matter of scheduling conflicts either. No one I have talked to from that team was contacted by the university for any kind of recognition. I mentioned that the Hobey Committee has never had a chance to present Paul with his ring for the 1993 HBA, which they will only present on-ice at a game. It's been 20 years so they're getting a little restless. That didn't happen either. Major dropped ball by the university.

I was thinking about that during the season and this morning when I was driving to work I was thinking how great it would be if they announced Jimmy becoming coach on the day of the 20th anniversary. Hang garlic cloves and keep your fingers crossed for the next week.

That ball wasn't dropped. It was never picked up in the first place.
Here's why: I know how I look next to a guy with a 12" dick, and Tim knows how this program looks next to a premier college program.

You know that is a remarkable point. I thought about it during the season but how they could miss an opportunity to honor the team is beyond me? Certainly could have been an opportunity to raise some money! Could have had a dinner with the team and I am sure you would have been able to charge $ to attend. Absolute travesty.
Maybe at Homecoming if the team is home for a game they could still give it a shot.

Even if they don't win right away, if the program just looks better from a gameplan perspective, looks better in the coached department, not making the same dumb mistakes and penalties over and over again, brings some enthusiasm, tenacity, and grit to the game, and puts some excitement back in Maine hockey, I bet more people will turn out to watch.

So far in the NC$$'s...Yale stunned Minnesota in Overtime,or did the Golden Chokers forget to show up...down 2-0/tied it up and that 9 seconds of O.T. by Minnesota looked awful,bet there's ALOT of unHappy campers in Minny tonight,but give Yale all the credit they wanted it...UML looks strong vs Wisconsin(3-1 in the 3rd).

So, game announcers tell me Lowell has 9 freshmen on their team. I guess they're too young to be in the NCAA tourney this season, their young guys need to learn how to score and win games. But boy, they oughtta be something a couple years from now.
