Re: Maine offseason part II...Countdown to slightly above the Mendoza line.

Sirman should definitely get the start tonight. The other 2 already had more chances than anyone else would expect to get. Let's see what he can do.

Sirman stopped 17 of 19 last night coming in off the bench. Give the kid a chance to see what he can do as a starter.

Re: Maine offseason part II...Countdown to slightly above the Mendoza line.

Can you do me a favor?

No. Well, I can, but I won't. :)

I'm not trying to convince you of anything. I'm pointing out that if you want to get the guy fired, you're going about it all wrong. Posting anonymously on an Internet message board and sending the coach harsh e-mails isn't going to influence the decision. If you like shouting into the wind, then keep posting after every loss how terrible the coach is. If you actually want to make change happen, then give the president a call and/or get fan support. I didn't exactly hear the boo-birds during the Michigan State series, and that was Homecoming - when you had access to all the alumni who are supposed to be up in arms about the coach.

I doubt the crowd at Alfond gives a crap. The diehard fans that rocked that place left with the renovation before the '92 season and were replaced by people who acted like they were at a polo match. Even during the 42-1-2 season that place was referred to as a "mausoleum" and "a mortician's dream come true."

Go ahead and call me names, post about how horrible the coach/AD/president are and stroke each other's egos. The bottom line is you have no power to change anything and have very little support from people who don't post anonymously on the Internet. If I'm wrong, then prove it.

you are not very good at choosing words.
I think what you mean is "posting anonymously has little power to change anything"
I, on the other hand have quite a bit of power. I USED to donate thousands. Not tens of thousands, but in a given year I would throw over $5K at the program, just under $10K per year.
I have made it clear that they do not get a dime from me until Tim is gone.
I begged others to do the same.
I am doing what I can.
If Kennedy was not going to take the buyout money and BUY TIM OUT, then, you are right, nobody has a lot of power. The money was there this summer. It got there too late.

I can promise you one thing, though, Tim is done at the end of this contract, at the latest.

He spend at entire weekend grilling the team about what they knew about the buyout... it made for a very uncomfortable couple of bus rides.

YOu cannot point to three things that Tim does excellently... NONE of the things I listed, NONE, and certainly no other qualities that a university would look for in a head coach are performed with excellence by Tim... He is not even good, never mind excellent.

frankly, I have an idea that you are getting people to be your mouthpiece... you are getting people in the know to write things about Tim that you do not want to write yourself.... hook line and sinker, huh?

Pis5ing all over ****** at the last banquet was the last straw for MANY people close to the program, people who were TRYING to give him yet another chance.
****** is surely a friend of yours... are you going to defend that move too?

TIMMAY did that to ******?!?! She is a wonderful lady who has bee through A LOT.

Whitehead may seem mild mannered and "nice".........but as more things come out, he just seems like a BIG PR*CK.

i deleted that part, I would appreciate if if you took her name out too.

and yea he ****ed all over her... alot of rude things... made everyone uncomfortable and a person who was a president of maine hockey got up, and almost left because of it.... this person stayed though.

Re: Maine offseason part II...Countdown to slightly above the Mendoza line.

Did anyone else notice that that perennial national powerhouse, Sacred Heart just beat Union...

Sacred heart the team that Just a couple weeks ago had to find a new head coach.

this is gonna kill the pairwise for Hockey east... everyone is going to lose mega points on the opponents' opponents part.

I could see Maine going 0-27 in Hockey East play.

Whoopty ding.

Maybe opposing coaches will jump on the FIRE TIMMAY bandwagon as well!

They will beat Northeastern and Merrimack once and tie 2 other teams somewhere along the line. However, they WILL finish in last place with a predicted 6 points.

Re: Maine offseason part II...Countdown to slightly above the Mendoza line.

4,6,5,3,5,5

That is a lot of goals allowed.

Starting goalie pulled both games this weekend, and likely would have at least once at Union if Whitehead was awake/had Darling available.

Looking back, Maine pulled the starter 3 times all last year (1/24 @ BC Darling, 2/13 v. BU Darling, 3/15 @ BU Darling *Seeley played last 2+ minutes, may have been a fairwell present).

Two years ago, Maine pulled the starter 4 times (11/9 v. PC Bishop, 11/6 @ Merrimack Bishop, 12/29 v. Lowell Bishop, 1/4 v. NU Wilson) in what was the most embarrassing Maine season in 20 years.

This could be a record breaking season.

Re: Maine offseason part II...Countdown to slightly above the Mendoza line.

Grant left and the goaltending sucks, go figure

Once again, its the same old crap. too little too late. Seems like the boys have tuned out

why do you think that they have tuned out?
I think that they are trying to work the system... everyone but that "dolt" Shemanksy... he keeps going to the net and not following the puck like a 7-year old. Funny how he goes to the net when he does not have the puck and the guy who gets the puck has someone to pass to.

TIMMAY knows he has to do everything he can to win games this season. he knows he's out if he doesn't.

Too bad the only thing he seems to know how to do to try to win games is pull the goaltender when he sucks. Replace him with another goaltender who sucks.

How can someone like PC pick up a goaltender halfway through the season and have him be their #1? How can BU have a walk-on step in and be the #1 goalie? How can these teams manage to find good goaltenders out of nowhere, and somehow Maine can't even manage to recruit a half decent one?

One of these guys is gonna have to decide if he wants to be a D-1 goalie, and get to work.

The goalies were fine until they came to Maine. They need coaching.

Seems pretty much true. TIMMAY needs to get rid of that guy he has, and hire a real goalie coach, someone who will be there full time. If I were him, I'd offer part of my own salary to pay him.
