Yep, mistype. I think I had Walshy dying in 2001 on my brain when I typed that, and TIMMAY's first year behind the bench.

Re: Maine offseason part II...Countdown to slightly above the Mendoza line.

They also were smart, and calm, and had a defenseman(Metcalf) who could carry the puck and make plays.

Not to nitpick :D , but wasn't it Cullen? He was one of the best at that.

Man I miss puck lugging defensemen. Who was the last one? Prestin Ryan?

Re: Maine offseason part II...Countdown to slightly above the Mendoza line.

Bought my tickets today. I'm looking forward to the trip and am really excited about seeing what the team can do this season.

Ditto ME FAN - I'm cautiously optimistic and hope that we are pleasantly surprised by the performance of this year's team. I don't think I can handle another losing season!

Let's see if we can get (2) wins to start the year this weekend!

Re: Maine offseason part II...Countdown to slightly above the Mendoza line.

Can we keep a running tally of games lost to suspension this season?

http://updates.pressherald.mainetoday.com/updates/maine-hockey-suspends-two-for-opener-0

darling and hegarty suspended for 2 and 3 games respectively... undisclosed violation of student code of conduct dating back to the spring
~~~ This is TOTAL BS....no need of it at all...over & over....this is the 3rd time that Darling has been reprimanded...what's his deal....better then his team-mates???? He should be given the heave-ho next infraction.....no need of it at all......and this has been going on every year......wake up WHITEHEAD....it's your team...take care of it....Sh*t happens,but make it NOT happen with some back-bone decisions....make these guy's know if you screw up your GONE.....not 2 & 3 game suspensions.....JUST GOES TO SHOW there need's to be major changes to the UMaine HKy program and in the A.D. office......boy what a Shi*ty day.......and there is 34 games yet to be played.......BS....TOTALLY
Re: Maine offseason part II...Countdown to slightly above the Mendoza line.
Being from the LA area and loosely connected to the film industry, I think Hegs and Darling (at least his 2d, I know one was an oversleep instead of an early morning workout) should have gotten the benefit of the Roman Polanski defense....those infractions were from so long ago, they've suffered enough already....
Don't you think?
Re: Maine offseason part II...Countdown to slightly above the Mendoza line.
It just keeps on coming doesn't it? These guys just keep on screwing up, and Whitehead meekly hands them their suspensions, and then someone else goes out and does something stupid.
It seems rather obvious that these guys neither respect nor fear Whitehead, or else these kinds of things wouldn't keep on happening.
Willie has never won a road game so it doesn't look good. Anyone know what they did?
Pray that it isn't serious.
