Re: Maine Hockey: Summer 2015 on the Stillwater

If you go to MDI, take a left in Ellsworth and go to Schoodic Point. Too bad its october I'd tell you to go to Dennetts wharf in Castine and sit on the wharf and have a cocktail. One of my favorite things to do on a hot summer day. Few pops and plate of steamers, pretty good way to spend an hour or two

They are making a mockery out of my beloved Schoodic, wally. Construction for a new camping area. Bicycle Bridge near the entrance to connect to a bike path. what the frick! Place is going to be full of aholes next year.

Not if you don't go.

Yeah, I haven't been there in a few so haven't seen that. So much pressure on MDI that its possible they are trying get folks over there. Getting thru Ellsworth right now is awful, 15 20 minutes to go a mile.

I hope it works. It's getting ridiculous on MDI. Parking lots filling up in the morning, park loop road down to one lane from sand beach to thunder hole, closing Cadillac road because it gets so congested at the top. Easily 3-4 times as many cars parking at the Eagle Lake carriage road entrance as can fit in the parking lot. I hate stopping at the grocery store on the way home from work. I'll often wait and go into Ellsworth at night.

I just got back from Olympic National Park and Mount Ranier National Park and it was awesome to get away from the crowds of Acadia and Bar Harbor. I can't wait for the fall. At least then most of the tourists are cruse ship people and they stay off the hiking trails.

Re: Maine Hockey: Summer 2015 on the Stillwater

The Maine Roster for 2015-2016 season, including the Freshmen number assignments, are out at the link below. Assigned Freshmen numbers are:

Rob Michel 3 (last worn by Mark Nemec in 2012-2013)
Justin Rai 10 (last worn by Ben Hutton last year in 2014-2015)
Dane Gibson 16 (last worn by Brice O'Conner 2 years ago in 2013-2014)
Keith Muehlbauer 18 (last worn by Jon Swavely 2 years ago in 2013-2014)
Stephen Cochrane 20 (last worn by Kellen Corkum in 2010-2011)
Brendan Robbins 22 (last worn by Stuart Higgins last year in 2014-2015)
Sam Becker 23 (last worn by Robby Dee in 2008-2009)
Daniel Perez 29 (last worn by Conner Leen last year in 2014-2015)
Rob McGovern 35 (last worn by Blair Allison way back in 1995-1996)

http://www.goblackbears.com/sports/m-hockey/2015-16/roster

Note: "last worn" comments were based on records that I've been keeping informally since I saw a listing that Bob Fitta put together that ended in 2006 (so there is definitely room for error)

Well Maine Event (I know who you are) thanks for the attribution. I still keep my own spreadsheet as well, but have not updated this years so will let you know. Hard to believe 35 has been on the shelf that long! Needed the rest after that NCAA semi-final game I guess, one of the greatest games i ever witnessed.

Depth looks like it will continue to be a problem this year. Hoping that some of the freshmen can contribute immediately or scoring will be a real problem unless Swavely, Byron, Brown, as well as Morgan and Merchant have career years.

Fun to watch guys develop, so long as the development starts to get us turning in the right direction!

Us locals use Rt. 230 to Trenton and Washington Jct. Rd. to Hancock during heavy summer traffic.

Yes Bob, those five with be the "depth" of the offense along with Rai if he's healthy.

Re: Maine Hockey: Summer 2015 on the Stillwater

I think you're forgetting some guy named Nolan Vesey, who came on strong at the end of his freshman year.

Correct!!! I did, goes without saying he will need to be lighting it up this year! Shows I am more of an observer these days than contributor when I leave the likes of Vesey out.

Via Twitter, commit from Neil Shea who is Pat Shea's younger brother. He's a '99 and a USHL guy so probably 3-4 years out?
