I think Sully should get the start. Waly is dead on about Marty and Saturday's. Plus like I said earlier, I think he needs some rest.

Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 - Red Light District

I just checked the UM site for tickets to see about taking the family to see tonights game. I haven't been to a game at the Alfond yet this year but have heard there are always empty seats, however this is the message I saw: "Limited amount of Tickets available in Section DD only ~ it is an OBSTRUCTED VIEW area." I don't particularly want to have the whole family sitting where we can't see so I guess we won't go. Is tonight's UHN game REALLY going to be sold out except for the relatively few obstructed view seats? If it was just me, I'd go take my chances on buying a ticket from someone just outside the door, but with a wife and 3 kids, don't really think I want to take that chance.

Not that I expect Maine to make the NCAA's but d a mn that loss really sunk them in the PWR. I'm surprised they dropped that much.

Well, at least the game is on TV tonight, Channel 7 if you're in the viewing area, and then it's also going to be on that Fox College Sports channel if you get the extended cable package, so it's bound to be showing at a local bar near you too. On Wednesday night's Coach's radio show they were saying that the game had been sold out already then.

I just checked the website for section DD too. I saw the same message, but when I clicked to see what seats were available they said that even that section was all sold out too! Not even a $50 seat left to be had!

Yeah, I noticed that too earlier. I wonder how much of a gain they'll get back if they split the weekend tonight.

We do live locally and I've watched a few games on TV this year but thought we might check this one out in person. Thanks for checking into it for us. The $50 seats were never an option for us, a family of 5! A bit sad we won't see the game in person tonight but happy for Red and the program that it's come to this already! Go Blue!!!

5 games in 8 days with travel shouldn't give Mainers that warm and fuzzy feeling

I found it very interesting watching the game in that I observed pretty much what you guys have been saying all season. Hard-nosed, gritty, etc., but short on talent. With equal skill set, Maine wins that game.

Game is on Fox College Sports Pacific tonight instead of FCSA
channel 462 for time warner folks

Terrific night for Shore. Set up on Lomberg's go ahead goal was a beauty

Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 - Red Light District

Game was on Fox 22 in Bangor (channel 4 on TWC), but they had signal problems during parts of period 2 and early period 3 (including the split second when Maine scored the tying goal at 2-2. Then they gave up on the signal altogether and switched to some mixed martial arts competition. However, the game was also carried on Fox College Sports (173 for Bangor area TWC). Unfortunately, I didn't figure that out until about six minutes to go when the game was 3-2.

Shore was a beast tonight. Easily the best player on the ice. Brown had a great game as well...

Shore is always a beast. Good effort tonight. UHN's tender is the real deal. Pray for a road win next weekend.

Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 - Red Light District

Good win, came as a result of Shore and Lomberg. This Maine team simply doesn't have the talent they need to compete on a natl level. Its not shocking, its the same team as last year with some decent freshman who aren't quite strong enough yet. Cam Brown played a good game, I think Marty looked out of sync in the 3rd, he was fighting the puck and didn't have a clue where the rebound was going. Maine really carried the play in the 2nd and 3rd and that should tell you quite a bit about UNH as in they ain't very good either.

Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 - Red Light District

Maine has 8 games left, doubt one can make a case for better than .500 if Higgins and Swavely come back. I think Marty needs this bye week more than anyone. Be great if they could get some points at South Bend, I don't see any at NU, hopefully they can get some against PC, tall order though, need a sweep against MC. Not sure where that will put them in HE, doubt its home ice but no one should have expected that anyway. Last night it was clear Maine has one really good line and its the one with Shore on it. Doesn't seem to matter who he plays with. I think the Freshman have hit the first year wall although they looked alot better late in last nights game than they did early, maybe a week off will do them good also. No matter what this team plays hard and is way more fun to watch that the last few years.

Different from Friday night, as it appeared UHN became more dominant as the game wore on.
