Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 Part 1: Red Dawn

WHo cares, is he playing for Maine next season? The rumor is he is going to be a coach. He was the best goalie on those teams, he didn't give up, he didn't ask to be taken out(Sirman) he wasn't drinking his lunch(Darling).

Precisely. I wonder if people said the same thing about a one-time third string goalie for Bowling Green named Shawn Walsh. Sometimes their knowledge better translates into teaching rather than playing.

Last year I received my application this week. Should be arriving soon.

Received my Season ticket renewal today in the mail. $401.00 for all home games pluse hockey east playoffs if they are at the alfond.. Also there was a form for advance purchase of the Fenway Park Doubleheader on Saturday Jan 11th.. You can also renew on line this year.

Is this for two tickets or one?

That price is for one ticket. Same price as last year, includes $6.00 handling fee. I renewed online last year. I believe that in order to renew online, a ticket holder must currently have season tickets.

"Online season ticket sales will begin after renewals in July. Maine Hockey Season Ticket renewals are expected to be mailed in July with an end of month deadline." Online tix site.

Dave Wilson is not the goalie coach, in case some here still are under that impression.

I happened to run into Coach Gendron today, and I asked him directly and he said that he had not even talked to Dave Wilson.

It appears that Priceless' source is not equal to Lee Goldberg's.:D

Wow, is it some sort of premium seat for that price? I would rather not criticize Abbott after what he has done the last few months, but I think he has really lost the plot on this one. Maine has three decent games scheduled, ridiculous to pay $400 each for that. If Maine played five games in total against BU, BC, and UNH plus a couple of good out of conference games it would be one thing, but the schedule is embarrassing. God bless the folks willing to pay it.

My "source" was the official Black Bear Camps Facebook page, which caused the initial confusion over whether he was the goaltending coach for the camp, the team or both. College Hockey Report has since reported that Wilson will be the Grad Assistant this season.

I find it odd that the Hockey Camp would send out a message that he will be coaching if he hasn't talked to the coach yet.

Very puzzling. If Gendron didn't want to leak the information, one would think he might just say he prefers not to comment on the topic.

He also mentioned that Larry Mahoney called him to try to confirm the rumor on Wilson over the holiday. Wilson could end up being a volunteer assistant, but Coach Gendron has not yet vetted him and had yet to speak with him as of noon today.

Sounds like the hockey camp is being run by a separate entity this year. Perhaps Gendron has nothing to do with it. Is this the case?

Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 Part 1: Red Dawn

I see another reason for confusion. The Maine Hockey Camps will be located in two different locations during different weeks. The Maine Hockey Camp at Alfond Arena is July 15-26 and a second Maine Hockey Camp will be held at Family Ice in Falmouth July 29-August 2. The first one is advertised on the University of Maine website and has Dan Kerluke as the contact person. The one in Falmouth is Rich Tibbetts. That one is not mentioned on the website.

Amen! People should take a wait and see approach for this season and just purchase individual game tix. At least next season we will have an idea how this team is developing under Gendron in addition to having 2 home games vs. Notre Dame and maybe a decent OOC series.
