I'm sure she'd have appreciated that after her first career goal...last season...in her first college game. She's also got 3 others this year.

Five straight goals by Providence in the 3rd period after Maine made it close at 4-2. Ouch! Anyone see the game?

Not a lot of positives to take from this loss to BC, with the exception of Shawna Lesperance. Two PP goals from the freshman forward.:) Meagan Mangene with an assist for BC. Reminded me of how much the Maine men's team misses her brother this year.

Awesome effort by Shawna..really disappointed in the Maine coaching staff for not allowing their entire roster in the "Skating Strides" team photo (note to staff...your injured players should never be left out) SHAME!!:confused:

I watched all three of the games this year.
The last game was much more competitive. Maine had much more time of possession. The Blackbears put on some good pressure. They recorded 25 shots compared to 19 combined in the first two meetings. I think they showed better puck control as well.

Maine's puck control has definitely improved in the last 4 weeks.

Apparently, Maine has a Canadian connection, as five of the six are from Canada. These players should have an impact on the team immediately.

After winning yesterday's game 1-0 against Vermont, Maine looked absolutely inept today. Simply put, this team is offensively challenged. Maine scored the first goal of the game even strength early in the 1st period and lead going into the 3rd period 1-0. Maine had 11 power plays (three of them five on three), and could not score.:eek: Final score 4-1.

It looked like Maine was a little gassed yesterday.Perhaps they blew the budget buying all those power plays, and couldn't spring for a good recovery meal after the victory Saturday.

Kidding a little, but at least from the video stream, some of the calls against Vermont looked utterly ridiculous, since Maine seemed to be overlooked in the violation department.

On a positive note - thank you to Vermont and Maine for breaking up what turned into a very dry hockey weekend, in which even the Bruins game was cancelled!

Penalty situation was reverse of Saturday's game.

Big factor on Sunday was no Brittany Dougherty in the Maine line-up. She is a force.

I didn't even think to see that they were having the game Saturday or I'd have tuned in:( I guess I was a little brain dead after all the snow removal:>(

The game the day before Maine found themselves in the box for 22 minutes. One for a protocol They started the game short-handed. Sounded like they had a number wrong, because a jersey issue last week for the cancer fundraiser game. Seems to me that was a little lame. A player was suspended for the next game also. I don't think the ref's were to blame for Vermont ending up in the box. It's seems Maine never makes an issue of penalties even though they have their share of them. Vermont's Goalie stopped many quality scoring chances from Maine.

Can any Maine fans shed some light on Brittany Dougherty's status? Hopefully she will be good to go the rest of the season. Was she dinged up in the 1st game with Vermont last weekend or did she get hit with the flu bug?
