I think us Maine fans have become used to having at least one freshman become an offensive impact as soon as they step foot in the door. Last year, Shemansky came out firing before Joey Diamond settled into the game we expected from him. Of course, before them there was Nyquist. Before him, Sweetland. Before him, Purcell.
Just because they don't blaze out of the gate doesn't mean they wont get there. Tanner House and Robby Dee comined for 2 goals over 53 collectively played games as freshmen. And yet, you knew by watching them: they would get there. Robby a little later than hoped, but he had a rocky road of nagging issues and injuries.
I agree that the freshmen are showing glimpses of things to come. It's harder to crack a veteran roster with a decent track record, though. As was pointed out, Amestoy, Swavely and Corkum have appeared in 5 games each, and a lot of their time has been spent on the bottom line. Way too early to jump to conclusions.
