Re: Maine 2018, 2019 Footba, I mean hockey thread.

As things stand now, everything is set.

UNH @ UMA
BC @ PC
ME @ NE
BU @ ML

The only thing that could realistically change this (barring a remarkable UNH comeback) is a UVM win against Lowell (currently tied) paired with a BU win tomorrow.

My guess is Timmy had an un-winnable situation. But he was good. But he probably cant come back to Maine. But I bet if he could, he would flourish. He was never afraid of small aggressive types. I hope Red understands this and figures on getting in smaller smart puck players.

Re: Maine 2018, 2019 Footba, I mean hockey thread.

I don't want Timmy to come back. I wish leamenn will. Or else we will find a great young mind. In his mold.

Re: Maine 2018, 2019 Footba, I mean hockey thread.

My guess is Red let's the boys go and tomorrow means nothing. And there will be more suspensions. :)

The Maine-BU game will have meaning after all. The pairings are set but the #4 seed is still up in the air. The 2nd tiebreaker is conference wins, which would give BU the #4 seed with a win. A tie or Maine win and Lowell retains home ice.

The athletics department just released an ad for tonight's game. The ad featured a photo of Rob McGovern. Make of that what you will.

Maine wins the first set 6-0.

Larry seems to think UMaine has a bit of a goaltender controversy now. "Don't be surprised to see McGovern Friday night." Pass whatever it is you're smoking, Lar.

Maybe we got the Big Mo .... maybe not but stranger things have happened...

Maine finishes above .500 in conference play and at .500 on the season, both for the first time since the 2013-14 season.

With a series to go at Northeastern next week...

Maine vs the Big 4 Private Schools (BC,BU,PC,NE)
2013-18: 8-39-1
2018-19: 6-4-0

Maine vs BC/BU
2013-18: 5-16
2018-19: 5-1

First winning season vs BC/BU since Red's first season.

Nice job tonight...way to get it done. Good luck at NU!!

How about that one? Most complete effort of the season? Not a bad time to find “it” heading into the playoffs. I know BU isn’t a powerhouse this year but a 6-0 victory in that fashion is pretty impressive and should give the boys a little bit of momentum heading into Northeastern.

Like many have said all along, I wouldn’t be surprised if Maine got to the Garden or got swept next weekend. Either way, I’ll be there. Making our first trip to Matthews Arena. Hope to see a lot of blue there!

On behalf of all of the Lowell fans - Thank you

Re: Maine 2018, 2019 Footba, I mean hockey thread.

Nice job. You guys played great. All the credit in the world for coming out with passion and intensity in a game that really didn't make any difference in the standings. Good luck against the Huskies. Would love to see Maine get back to the Garden. It would be a great atmosphere.

Re: Maine 2018, 2019 Footba, I mean hockey thread.

Nice way for the seniors to go out. Always good to beat BU even if they mailed it in. NU will be tough but the season starts all over again Friday night.

Re: Maine 2018, 2019 Footba, I mean hockey thread.

Fun fact: If there are no upsets in the first round of the HEA tourney, it will be the first Garden ever without any of the former "Big Four".
